The whole stay was amazing. Such a beautiful place. Definitely a weekend we will not forget anytime soon. We got engaged whilst staying here for the weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Everything in the room was great and so peaceful. We will definitely be coming back again.

Thanks Peter- the views and nature at the moment are amazing! Willamena- our local wallaby mum- has been visiting with her joey and the mob of kangaroos have been delighting the guests when they show. We've really tidied the gardens and working hard on the rooms- and the feedback is positive. love the many return guests who are getting back in touch and we're able to offer great deals to our regulars! A magic place to visit!!

Beautiful location and views, and the spa is amazing. The rooms could do with an upgrade, or at least new linen. Perhaps some food and drinks available for purchase at reception would be a good idea as it is a fair distance from any shops or restaurants.

It is a beautiful locations and we continue to work hard to improve the cottages and grounds. With the linen we have only just purchased new towels, etc, so I'm assuming its not those you refer to. With the bed linen we don't like the harsh white bedding of lots of motels- we try to match our linen to the cottages- which are rustic- so I'm assuming this doesn't fit your tastes, and that's ok, because we all have different tastes. Maria buys new pillows and bedding regularly so I can guarantee you would have slept in very recently purchased and tidy linen. With the distance to the shops you are right- but if you read the information I send with every booking this is well explained, and some people rave about the helpful hints I send them, as it really helps to plan their stay.

The best

We have stayed in many luxurious hotels in Australia and overseas but this one tops the list. The place is absolutely fantastic. Staying there was the highlight of our holidays. The cottage is spacious and comfortable with everything in it to make you feel well. It even has a fantastic Jacuzzi. The views are fantastic and the surmounting is peaceful and relaxing. We shall recommend this place to anyone we know and we would love to visit it again and stay there even longer.

Beautiful location for couples retreat.

Location: Very close to some good lookouts on the Great Ocean Road. And I imagine it would be a good location for bushwalkers.
Only stayed overnight but was welcomed very warmly on arrival and given some good information about the surrounding area which was handy because of limited time in the morning. The room was very comfortable although there are shared facilities for the lounge and kitchen so not sure what it would be like if others were staying at the same time.

It is mentioned in all the room descriptions that the two suites share a common commercial kitchen and it is one of the most popular parts of the stay because you can meet people from all around the world and share the magic of Moonlight Head- lots of our guests really love this. On the other side the kitchen lounge is so big that you can have your own space anyway and your rooms include a lounge suite, own deck and own bathroom- and amazing views! All you could want when exploring the GOR and Twelve Apostles.

Scenic and quiet getaway

Pros: quiet, no crowds, beautiful views, near to the 12 Apostles
This is great place to stay, away from the busy coastal accommodation on offer along the Great Ocean Road. Only small concern is the proximity to places to eat nearby (there are none). If we had gone there as a planned stay and not a random night's accommodation however it would have been prefect, as the kitchen facilities are excellent so you can prepare your own meals and not need to go out. I'd stay again very happily, but I would bring ingredients for cooking next time.

Hi Paul, when a guest books beforehand we send a comprehensive guide on local eating, supermarkets and tourism info. It is a great planner for the local area and our guests really appreciate it. Obviously a last minute booking can't get these ideas and you're right- there is limited options in the area- the Twelve Apostles is in an undeveloped part of the world- which makes it more beautiful.

A great getaway

Pros: Lovely cosy cabin where we could kick back and relax. Beautiful view across rolling hills towards the sea. Felt very remote which was nice.
Cons: Jacuzzi wasn't the comfiest but still quite nice. Bathroom was chilly.
Location: Good location to explore the Great Ocean Rd (12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge etc), Otway Fly, many beautiful waterfalls and nice sites in the rainforest.

Thanks for your comments Ben- cottages do have amazing views and are very rustic and homely. We continue to work hard to clean them up and improve. Must admit over winter bathroom is quite chilly at times- lucky the jacuzzi is heated to 38 degrees and so inviting!

Very quiet and peaceful

A great stopeover along the Great Ocean Road if you like informal bed and breakfast accomodation. Walked to the cliff views nearby and loved the quiet night with the breakers in the distance. Very clean, comfortable and friendly.

Glad you enjoyed your stay Paul and Joanne, some of the local walks are breathtaking- we even have the Great Ocean Walk just down from us and we are in the middle of the last two/three legs, and the most popular parts too!
