The Windsor is an excellent hotel with large rooms. I think COVID-19! Is still causing some angst for staff One 11 for breakfast with wonderful service made the difference

Very friendly staff. A lovely comfortable big room with walk in dressing room so you could have all your cases and coats etc right out of the way. A good size bathroom, with bath and shower, perhaps a touch dated but very clean. Lovely products. The reception on the TV was not great and the room extremely hot. We had to turn the heating off completely. There was no milk provided for the tea and we had to ring and ask. We were provide with the tiny portions you get on a plane. Small detractions to an otherwise very comfortable stay. We noticed some peeling wall paper in common areas. It would be good to get this fixed. The Windsor is a grand old lady and deserves to be looked after. Exceptionally friendly staff.

The hotel staff were simply fantastic. We stayed with our 2yo son and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and easy with a child. The rooms are spacious and had a great street view. Breakfast was fantastic and the location was great with so many dining options nearby. Unfortunately we did not find the bed very comfortable, the mattress could do with an update. Lastly we were disappointed there was no independent heating or cooling in the room, you can only turn the fan off or on. As no one explained this to us on check in we kept trying to cool the room by turning the fan on and the thermostat down but little did we know this was allowing more heat into the room. I wouldn’t want to rely on that in summer, but next time I’d simply turn off the fan and we probably would have been comfortable. Still our overall experience was positive due to the exceptional staff.

Wonderful old style rooms with beautiful views of historic buildings in Melbourne. Loved the rooms but the bathroom left a little to be desired to match the feel and style of the rest of the rooms. Was their for our anniversary and was surprised with a bottle of wine on our first night. Well worth the time we spent there and thanks for a wonderful weekend.
