Alright hotel to stay for a night

Pros: Could take food from restaurant back to room
Cons: Room service in the hotel would be good. I missed out on breakfast because I had too much work to do in the morning.
Location: Great location near main street
Was ok to stay. Wouldn't want to stay there too long though. No one mentioned they have a live band on Friday nights so trying to sleep with your room and bed and room vibrating and loud music was a bit disappointing especially after a long day's work.

Pros: staff
Cons: bedding, tea and coffee in rooms, bathroom privacy
Location: great location
paid $12 in the morning for a stale piece of bread and a instant coffee. It was not a good start to the day after a long night in an uncomfortable bed, with no doona cover, just a thin sheet and a flat pillow. I could hear the busy street traffic all night and had street light shining through the window onto my face all night. The only pleasant thing about staying here was the reception staff as they were friendly and polite. The two bed room also had no privacy as I was staying with my brother he had to leave the room while I had a shower and vice versa because the shower was in the corner of the room with no separation screen. The room was very old but it did seem clean... It had a creepy feel to it also and glad I only had one night there.

Vintage experience

Really enjoyed the vintage charm. Good location , great price and easy dinning. A bit run down in some areas but this added to the character.

nice old fashioned feel

We picked this stay on price as we new we would be in late and out early just wanted a bed. We got the familky room with ensuite and suited us perfectly it was actually great space have to separate rooms. As we got in after 11pm reception was closed so had to see the manager of the pub who was a pleasure to deal with she even gave us warning that there could be noise from the band. We were on the third floor and could not hear a thing. The feel was quite nice for an old heritage pub/ hotel

Historic building with lots of character

Pros: Old world charm
Cons: Air conditioner was a little noisy
Location: Right in the CBD so if you need to do business in town, the courts etc it's a great spot
The hotel is full of photos and memorabilia. The rooms are clean but worn. My room was large and comfortable and good value for the price. The breakfast resturant is outstanding for quality and price. The steak Resturant is also great. Would happily stay again and recommend to anyone especially if you need to be in the CBD

Very noisy the night I stayed.

Pros: The steak restaurant is great
I was driving from Brisbane to Townsville. The night I stayed there was a private function with a rock band - it did end before 12:00 but if they had told me that was on I would have stayed somewhere else. Just a very tired old place but good fun if you're in the mood for it.

Pub Hotel

A nice old Pub Hotel, however I found the food from the restaurant to be overpriced and underwhelming. Paying over $40 for a poorly cooked steak and frozen seafood was dissapointing. Worth the cheap stay, eat elsewhere!
