Accommodation In Putrajaya

You’re going to want more parks in your hometown after visiting Putrajaya. It is called an "Intelligent Garden City", which will seem odd at first, but go sightseeing among the fertile green parks, botanical gardens, waterways, and jaw-dropping buildings, and you’ll be amazed. Almost half of this city is covered in natural landscapes, so it won’t matter where you book your Putrajaya accommodation; you’ll be surrounded by beauty.

Putrajaya is 25 kilometres south of Kuala Lumpur and just north of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. It was designed to be a showcase city and construction began in 1995 and still continues today. The buildings and landmarks follow the banks of the Putrajaya River beautifully, especially the square in front of Putra Mosque, which is actually circular in shape. From there Putra Bridge crosses the lake to the south, while the Prime Minister’s office building sits proudly to the north, looking more like a luxury hotel than a place of work with its handsome green and brown exterior.

The city spreads outwards like a beautiful drawing, and the best place to get a good view is one of its best parks, the Tarman Putra Perdana. This is an oval-shaped piece of land on a hill that has magnificent open grass areas and splendid green wooded areas to walk through. Putrajaya is just as spectacular at night as during the day with many buildings lit up by dazzling well-placed lights – although you may want to give the pitch-black parks a miss.

While Putrajaya serves a feast for the eyes, you’re going to want to feed your stomach some time as well. There are several food courts mixed in with restaurants serving local Malaysian as well as western food. Why not tuck into a plate of Mee Goreng (fried noodles), Nasi Goreng (fried rice with chicken, curry and egg) or Roti Canai (pan fried flatbreads served with curry) – yum!

So why not come and see the beauty of man and nature’s creations? Book one of our Putrajaya hotels and a flight to Kuala Lumpur.
