Rooms ok (had a weird smell and no AC) but shared bathroom was clean. Service terrible! Warning about the shared bathrooms - take your keys with you. I accidentally left my key in the room and had to walk downstairs barefoot as I forgot my shoes in my room and had no phone. It was Sunday morning and all doors into the bar where the reception is were locked and had to wait 20 minutes for someone to walk passed!!!

A great hotel, centrally located

Pros: Centrally located, atmosphere is great & service most helpful. The grand hotel & its unique history & photos makes this hotel a special place to stay
Cons: Better signage for check-in place would be good. The shower doors did dismantle on opening/closing, a minor issue.
Location: Being from Fremantle originally (I now live in Broome, WA) it is great to see changes. My visit was for a medical appointment at Fremantle Hospital.
On initially arriving there was no signage showing where one is to go, but once found, the staff were most helpful. The only downer for me was having to drag a small suitcase up two sets of stairs while using a crutch (no assistance offered), to the second level where my accommodation was. I was aware of the stairs, but was limited to suitable accommodation at peak period in Fremantle. Once there, I was thankful for such a great, clean and spacious room with its own bathroom directly opposite the stairs. The disappointment lay in the "burnt" Pork Spare Ribs I ordered for dinner, which was a huge letdown when one is looking forward to a nice meal. I much appreciated the storage of my suitcase after checkout, due to a late departure from the town of Fremantle to the airport. I could enjoy Fremantle for several hours without having to drag a suitcase around with me. Thank you to all for your service and assistance. It was very much appreciated.

Great location, staff were helpful, late checkout

Pros: the location
Cons: cleanliness
Location: beach, cafes, restaurants,
Great location, we love fremantle and it wasn't too over priced, however the room could be in a better condition the bed covers had stains all through, cleanliness was not the highest but if your looking for something that's reasonable priced, close to all amenities then this would be perfect. Staff were very helpful we were able to leave our luggage in one of their store rooms before check in and also we had a late checkout.
