Terrible Customer service

No one could verify my booking. Hotels.com could not be reached by phone or email for hours. I was rebooked in a different hotel by Hotels.com but was still charged by Sandcastle. I've tried to contact them for a refund with no response in over a month. I did get a look at the facility because I had family staying there. I'm delighted we were booked somewhere else.

There were no food options to my knowledge. A couple brochures for delivery. I couldn’t cook or eat in the room. The first room was inhabitable. The second room we made it work due to already paying our money. The bed had other peoples hair under the sheets that were to supposedly be made. I sprayed the covers and slept on top. I’ve never been on vacation and had an experience like that.

Very dirty, very dirty air vents. Poop in the hall way, very old rugs paint peeling everywhere, lots of spider webs in the hallways, bed was comfortable. Need total renovation.

Pictures are from the first room we were given. The second room was a little better but the floor was dirty, the sofa and the pull out bed was disgusting. I wouldn’t stay here again, horrible hotel.

Needs Cleaning Badly, Room Not As Described

The hotel needs a deep cleaning, it’s gross. Blood spot/splatter on bathroom door amongst other stains. The hotel I got did not look as pictured, at all! From bed to chairs, gross! The floor was dirty when we arrived! Asked for towels and could not get any! Asked multiple days! Only received 3 wash clothes bc everything is was not available. Other guests had similar complaints/issues! Honestly I wouldn’t book at Sandcastle again based upon its current state and my visit/experience. No pots/pans in rooms. Again, when we arrived the floor was disgusting, that floor was not swept before our arrival. The only thing that was done was bed making, that’s it! Air conditioner piece was not on it, someone placed it up against the wall outside. Strands of someone else’s hair in chair and shower. I could’ve paid $30 more and stayed at a great hotel, that I’ve stayed at plenty of times. But I decided to get this place a shot…big mistake! Never again!!!

The pictures displayed do not accurately reflect the property upon arrival. The bed linens were not clean, and the bathtub drains slowly and tends to get clogged. Moreover, the place had not been vacuumed before we arrived. When I requested new sheets, I was informed that they would be brought to me, but they never arrived. I suppose it’s only worth staying here if there are no other options available.

Save yourself a terrible stay!!!

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Mildew and cigarette burns on the bed skirts, broke AC unit, broke. Door handle to the patio was clean off the door, oven didn’t work, no room service, all the hot tubs were broken, the outdoor bar was shut down my entire stay, everyone we ran into was complaining about how awful their room was. One lady told me she had to push a chair up to her fridge to keep her fridge door shut. For the love of all that is holy, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Our stay August 14-17, 2025 at the Sandcastle South was wonderful. Starting with check-in, the front desk associates were very friendly, they had great cheerful attitudes, and they were very professional. We even got to check in early, wasn't expecting that but it was a great surprise. The room was clean, spacious, and exactly what we were looking for. The only the I would recommend is that they replace the mini fridges for full size ones, but the mini fridge did work. The pools were clean and refreshing. We stay here often and haven't ever had any issues. We used Expedia for booking and wasn't surprised with any extra surprise charges, it was actually cheaper than what Expedia had quoted, that was nice.

The property was great the only things we were disapointed by was the tiki bar being closed the whole visit we were there and there were no available tubes for the lazy river. There were two completly different tubes there but i believe they were other guests that may have left them there by mistake.

The property was very disappointing compared to how it appeared in the photos. The pools and hot tubs were not functioning, and the tub in our unit was cracked, causing flooding each time it was used. We were moved twice during our stay, and basic items such as an ice bucket were missing. The stove had no temperature markings, making it impossible to cook properly, and there were not enough towels provided for guests, nor were extras available in stock. Additionally, the location was inconvenient, with no nearby restaurants— the closest option was about 2.5–3 miles away.

The hotel is not as described don’t book here.

The room looked nothing like it did online when I booked it, it’s was not so clean and tore up sliding door was broke and did not lock witch was scary cause I have 5 kids the bathroom door was broke the stay was not so good the pools were dirty and the hot tubes did not work. Money waisted but oh well I would definitely not recommend booking here.
