Hotel was clean and tidy. Booked a 2 bedroom apartment with ensuite and main bathroom, got one without ensuite which was an inconvenience for us. Water pressure was great in morning not so flash at night.

Room was comfortable and well equipped for our family of 5. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Lolly wrappers under couch cushion does make you question thoroughness of housekeeping. Bathroom extractor fan didn't work, making the bathroom very wet for the duration of our stay. We were woken up at 1am by people leaving an adjacent club pushing our intercom buzzer. This is not the hotel's fault, but worth mentioning if you value a good night's sleep.

Excellent location close to restaurants.

Pros: Great parking and safe easy access to the apartment. Close to restaurants, function centres and a short walk to the South Melbourne Market and trams. The living area was spacious and the apartment was very clean. We were provided with fresh towels each day and a tidy up through the apartment. The reception staff were friendly and offered very good instructions on finding the underground car-park.
Cons: There was nothing we could be critical about regarding this accommodation.
Location: We were close to the outskirts of Melbourne proper, walks, the river and impressive gardens. We visited the War Memorial which was very close by.

Excellent facilities

Location: Independent supermarket with liquor store directly opposite. Close to trams, Melbourne's Botanic Gardens. Many restaurants within walking distance
Serviced apartments with modern furnishings. Spacious living area. Full kitchen and laundry facilities. A couple of things to be aware of: no onsite check-in. You must check-in at the nearby Quest apartments in Dorcas Street (less than five minutes walk). Factor that into your arrival and departure plans. Also, there is a long flight of stairs at the building entrance, winding staircases between floors, and no elevator facilities. Something to be aware of if travelling with eg. prams, bicycles.

Convenient location, great Reception staff

Pros: Proximity to public transportation and the venue we needed to get to on the night.
Cons: The "extra" bed - it gave me the most terrible headache due to my neck, shoulder & spine being put out of alignment. It was like sleeping on concrete.
Location: It is close to the Arts Precinct, the CBD, Crown Casino, the Botanical Gardens, Shrine of Remembrance, and most other Melbourne landmarks.
We booked an apartment at the Quest South Melbourne but were moved to the Quest on Dorcas when a large group extended their stay and overbooked their apartments. I was told this was an upgrade from 4 to 4.5 star accommodation but didn't really feel that we got an upgrade at all. We went from a sofa bed to an extremely uncomfortable fold out camp style bed, there was no corner spa so we lost out there, and only one bathroom between five women - far from ideal. I was told when they changed my booking that there were Apple adaptors available at Reception if the dock didn't fit my iPod, which it didn't, then was told on the day of our stay no adaptors were available - this meant no music for 18 girls at a gathering prior to us leaving for a hens party, very disappointing! The reason I have given a favourable rating despite all of this, is because I have ranked the attributes as a stand-alone - that is, if I had just booked the apartment to stay in for the night without being moved. The Reception staff were wonderful when it came to notifying us of our guests arriving, and in accommodating us and our needs, I just felt that we were let down by being moved to the other building. It was a lovely apartment, just not what I had been expecting.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and I am pleased you enjoyed our location. I am sorry we were unable to provide you with an Apple adaptor and apologise you would have preferred not to be 'upgraded' to our Quest on Dorcas location. I hope you and your party enjoyed your event in Melbourne. Best wishes, Catherine Mapperson

Location: Good restaurant next door. The Olive Tree
I was sent around the corner to a different building that had lots of stairs and no lift. If you are booking check ahead where they are going to put you.

Dear imac Thank you for staying with us and I am delighted you were able to experience the great good at The Olive Tree. The websites detail the fact our Quest South Melbourne guests needs to check-in at Quest on Dorcas (400 metres away). Normally our reception team would call guests ahead of their arrival day to ensure they were aware of the check-in location and I apologise if this was not done in your case. I will follow this up with our team. Kind regards, Catherine Mapperson
