Dear Mr. McGregor We are very disappointed with your bad revue and your lack of understanding of the situation we had in Mammoth Lakes and across the Mono County due to the severe wind storm. For security reasons and to protect the people from the fire, the power was turned off by Southern California Edison. All the shops and restaurants had to close because of the power outage in Mammoth Lakes. We have tried our best to accommodate our guests a pleasant stay in our hotel as best as possible. We did have lighting in the public areas through our emergency. Each of our guests did received flashlights from us. There was heating in the rooms and we had the fireplace going for some ambience. But realistically, we are talking about the few hours in the evening. Around midnight the power was restored and once again the water heater and lights were operational. But in your case right from the start we gave you an upgrade from the original room you had booked. The original room that was booked with us was a standard room with full beds. The upgraded room we gave was the large deluxe room with two queen beds, kitchen, dining area and balcony. As you were arrived early in the afternoon, you could have still enjoyed the comfort of this room with the natural light and the next morning too. It would have been nice that we would have had a better understanding from you like all of our guests gave us through this situation. Instead of us receiving this negative critique, Mr. McGregor why do not you show understanding for the decision of Southern California Edison, who shut down the electricity for security reasons, like the disaster that happened last year in Paradise where people lost everything or worst yet lost their live. We did the best we could with the next to nothing warning from the power company. Sincerely Heike Albrecht
