My colleague and I had a three day stay at the Cottage looking for a home away from home, which we got as we were working nearby. It was warm, comfortable and plenty of room. Great facilities for entertaining and cooking. The only issues we had was that the key we were given only unlocked the front door so we had to walk a few steps down the side of the house to gain access to the back porch and BBQ which we used. My car (5 seat sedan) has a few problems getting in and out (very tight) so eventually I parked on the street. The second car we had ( a small VW golf) had no issue. Will go back again. Great communication with the owner and a resource folder helped us out in finding attractions. Good location to scenic world.

Thank you for the lovely review. I will follow up regarding the keys as there should have been a key for the back door and for the window locks too on the same key ring.

Quaint little cottage

Pros: 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 2 people who like their own little den!
Cons: May be provide a tv! Although we mainly love reading books.
Location: Great location and close to everything! Also we loved the Tea Rooms cafe in the Megalong Valley in Blackheath.
We had a delightful stay in a whisper quiet and immaculately clean cottage. It was very close to the town centre and the main sights of Katoomba. After bushwalking and sight seeing it was very pleasant coming back to our very private cottage and relax. It was also really nice finding that it had its own little library and the books really appealed to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I assume you mean providing TVs in the bedrooms, as there is a TV and DVD player in the living room. The experience is deliberately stripped back and low-tech so guests can enjoy getting away from it all,

Cons: A hand rail going down to the lounge room.
Location: Very handy to everything.
Very clean everything you need for you stay. If arriving after dark, it was difficult to know which driveway to go down. Only in the day light can you tell. A hand rail going down the few steps to the lounge area. Would be helpful for people who find steps a bit challenging. Great place to stay.

A handrail for the 3 steps is a great suggestion. We know that those few stairs in the house can be an issue for anyone with mobility problems.

Loved it! A great mountain's cottage

Warm, cosy and comfortable. The gas fire in the lounge room was delightful. The bedrooms beautifully set up. A real winner!

Other than teleporting the cottage to somewhere else, there is not much I can do about the location which is clearly shown on Google Maps. However, I may have been able to assist with access or the neighbour had I been asked or told about the nature of the problem: was wheelchair access required? did one of the guests have a mobility issue? were there difficulties getting from the car into the cottage? It's hard to help when I don't know.

Pros: A comfortable cottage in a country setting. Really homely and clean with a nice atmosphere. Very reasonable.
Cons: No TV - but that didn't particularly bother me.
Location: Away from it all
Facilities: Nice ; Value: Great deal; Not really within walking distance of facilities, but sitting in front of the gas fireplace with a glass of red...who would want to go out anyway!!
