My google map of the address didn’t take me to the property and the owners had to ‘talk me in’. I really appreciated they answered the phone because it was after 7.30pm. The owner was definitely abrupt but he got me there. They advertise ‘pet friendly’ and I had my dog. This was the principal reason I was staying. He wasn’t excited to hear I had a dog and said they would ‘accommodate’ it this time. I was surprised and disappointed at that, because it was an expensive room for a county b&b. The bed was comfortable. The room was fine. The house did smell a little bit and the garden was pretty overgrown for top rates to be charged. But, I was safe, I slept and my dog was allowed to stay so...all good.

Dilapidated

Host is friendly and welcoming but insufficient effort or knowledge in providing hospitality. Numerous dilapidated items: bed frame falling apart, light fitting hanging from fan unit, broken blinds and curtain rails. Old crockery and kitchen utensils obviously left over items from twenty years ago. I didn't feel like attempting to prepare any food in the kitchen - greasy surfaces, filthy extraction fan. I risked the uncovered milk and juice left in the fridge but passed on the bacon wrapped in aluminium foil. Main view of pile of rubbish in paddock not inspiring. I travel to the area once or twice a year for events at Phillip Island - this accommodation very disappointing relative to rate.

Homely Cottage

Pros: Friendly hosts, country setting on a Berry Farm
Location: 5 minute drive to the centre of Inverloch
Welcoming hosts, spacious bedroom and access to a private lounge area and library inside with a country setting outside made for the perfect venue for an overnight stay only 5 minutes drive from Inverloch. The breakfast spread was typical of what we'd hope for when staying at a B and B - loved the Jumbleberry jam!
