Generally grubby and run down. Obviously maintenance is not their priority! A pity as there is somuch potential there.

Helpful staff, sunbirds on the verandah, crocodiles lurking in the river ... what more could you want?

Well situated in the Daintree Village. Very basic accommodation, no TV in our room, no microwave/ jug etc in room, had to park car on the street and long walk to our room. Bit disappointing but served our needs. Lady on reception very friendly and helpful.

Lay back surroundings that were nice to have before and when you returned from tours to relax and watch the sun set behind the hill and the sun setting reflection on the river front view

Convenient. Beautiful views compensate for any deficiency one feels with facilities. One staff was very helpful and nice but the other two were rough.

Great location for bird watching

Pros: The owner, Sally, was very welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay. The location was excellent for access to bird watching tours.
Cons: Very minor criticism - face washers would be a good addition.
The hotel, in the Daintree Village, is a great location as a base for bird watching tours on the Daintree River and for day trips to the Daintree National Park on the northern side of the river (crossing via ferry). Sally, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming, had a lot of knowledge about the area and activities, and she was really helpful throughout our stay - thanks Sally! Our room had an elevated view over the Daintree River and the jetty (from which most of the bird watching tours depart) and it was only a couple of minutes' walk down to the jetty. We appreciated having a ceiling fan, air-conditioning and a small fridge in our room. Cooking facilities, shared with just a few rooms,on the adjoining (large) verandah are good and there is plenty of room. We enjoyed the stunning early mist at dawn, the quiet and warm evenings, the birdsong, one brief downpour, and the laid-back atmosphere of North Qld. Loved the three bird watching trips we did with "Sauce" (Daintree River Wild Watch; dawn, late afternoon) and Dan Irby (evening trip). The car ferry that crosses the Daintree river is about 10 km (15 min by car) from Daintree Village. We'll definitely stay at Daintree Riverview next time we go to the Daintree.

Good view of river.

Pros: Close to the crocodile trips on the river and a wonderful view from lounge and kitchen. The cheese, tomatoe , ham toasties are good.
Staff are very friendly and down to earth. There is a good clean outdoor kitchen to use here with tea and coffee supplied. The hotel is reasonable value for money given the location and demand for accommodation locally.
