Comfortable room with a lovely view from the 2nd floor via a skylight which was ideal for keeping the room cool on a very warm night. Excellent shower, large towel, all areas very clean and tidy. Steve was very helpful, would stay again.

Disappointing, but not entirely owners fault

Hotel was not as described online. The telephone number was incorrect and we were unable to make contact with the hotel. The restaurant was non-existent and the TV had no channels even after tuning.

This is in an excellent location and we found it good value for money. There were no staff on reception and it took a while to find someone but we had complicated matters by following behind someone else. There was actually a buzzer and a mobile number on the door which we had not seen. When we located staff member, she was very pleasant and helpful.

The Moelwyn may have been a wonderful seaside Hotel and Restaurant years ago, but it is no longer. There is no restaurant, no breakfast. The ocean view room we were given was a sweltering hot attic room with a slit to see the ocean from if you climbed onto a wooden box.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Moelwyn . Always a lovely welcome. At £70 per night for the room it was fine . We were able to bring our own food in to eat at the hotel- one evening we ate fish and chips with a bottle of wine on the terrace with a lovely view of the castle and seaside nearby - perfect

Underwhelming

Booked for a birthday night away, but left feeling deflated and underwhelmed on arrival. The service was very casual and unprofessional. Felt that they weren't ready with information about the booking and left confused about which room we were due. Room was dark a dirty with hair over the carpet and in the hallways. Just felt really underwhelming and very tired. We barley stayed, before we decided to look for other arrangements. My husband struggled to voice his comments to the owner as we left to even attempt any money back at the time as we just wanted to go. Such a fantastic location and the service and quality let it down.

MISREPRESENTATION!

We booked B&B only to find the restaurant had not functioned since end of 2023! No breakfast or any other food has been served for 18 months! The hotel is advertised as 'Moelwyn Hotel & Restaurant'. The board outside calls it 'The Moelwyn Restaurant with Rooms' with additional B&B board! This is misrepresentation! The owner is permanently unavailable!

Flying solo in Criccieth

My stay was lovely. The Moelwyn was quiet and clean, right on the seafront and perfect for my short break.
