On arrival the lobby was like the Mary Celeste, having waited for about ten minutes eventually had to shout out until a staff member finally appeared. Check in took a bit of time as the staff member had very limited English, but we were then allocated a room which, as soon as we opened the door, were hit with an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke (despite this being a fully non-smoking hotel). We were allocated a different room when we brought this to the staff member's attention, but he seemed to take this as a usual occurrence- no apology or explanation. The second room had only one towel for two people and the only drinking water glass in the bathroom had obviously been sat there for quite a while as it was mouldy! We were given a second towel and two clean glaases by the only staff member we saw that day. On returning to the hotel later in the evening the one man show informed us that the bar was closing in five minutes (it was 22:44) despite the Accor website stating the bar and restaurant were open 24 hours a say. Ordered a couple of pints of Stella and were presented with two nowhere near full glasses of flat cloudy yellow liquid. When we questioned the appearance of the drink he said it was normal and the cloudiness wasn't opaque but was, in fact, the "reflection" (of what, I dont know! He also said that the draught Corona was the same. We ended up having a couple of small bottles of Peroni (at £4.25 each). No hot breakfast in the morning, just "Continental" at £7.
