I had been hoping that the critical comments from other reviewers were people who were being unreasonable, and maybe if I had paid half of what I did (which would still have been more than what the quality of the room offers), then all of these things that I noticed would be unreasonable, but for a room that had been advertised at $500 a night discounted to $350, I hadn't expected that there would be ants in the pantry, no plug for the jucuzzi bath, lots of stains on the rug, a water stain on the wall from where the AC unit had been dripping, nor have an AC that is able to reverse cycle to heart. Even with the additional blanket provided upon request, and our own blanket that we had brought for our travels, we were still cold at night. For $100 a night, or even $120 I would have let these things go, but not for a room advertised to be $500. The saddest part of all is that you can see the shell of what used to be a STUNNING hotel and room, but as I've noticed is the Best Western way, this beautiful old hotel has been run down, and obviously for much longer than the pandemic. They definitely can't blame the decline in quality of this building on the past 2 years alone. That said, both of the staff had been very lovely and helpful, and I hope the management decides to invest in both more staff, and more maintenance because this hotel should be so so much better.

The size of the room was good, however it was very dusty, especially the couch. The coffee cups had not been washed. Check-in was rather rude.

I like it close to the city..what i didnt like...cleanliness is bot a priority;the wall mouldy in the shower,no toilet paper what so ever, the hot tub tap not working, internet not provided in the room(basically no info papers in the room), havent been told that balcony door need to close properly otherwise it effect the air conditioning.the phone to connect the front desk/reception not working(everytime to ask something, needed to walk down and ask, reception seem not welcoming and not real interest for my concerna),lounge chair need deep clean as it appears dirty. The bed not really comfy (can feel spring when i lay down)..definitely not worth the money i paid..no help for late checkout..but,i heard the other guest that i spoke with they been given a late check out for free..

My experience was terrible. The check in took more than 15 minutes. After the check inn I went up and the room that they gave me was with people sleeping there. The smell was terrible. The hotel very dirty, I have pictures. Not again. It’s more a back packers place

Very difficult & limited parking facility. Room was tidy but lacked basic conveniences such as no iron/ironing board and kitchen facilities were lacking (no teatowel, limited tea/coffee ect). Air-conditioner filters were just laying on the floor and quite dirty and mouldy.

This place is in dire need of a refurbishment. Bathrooms were filthy, the tire walls mouldy and dirty.

Wotif published this as $375 per night – I paid an incredibly discounted rate of $234 per night and felt ripped off. At this rate, the experience was not good enough. At $134, I would have been happy enough. Things start well; good location, nice enough check-in. Then things started going wrong - 2 lifts, one out of order (full booked hotel), working lift button did not work, so you needed to press down to go up. After a long day jumped in the shower to find now linen in the room. I got out of said shower to find no linen slipped on the deep bath with no anti-slip coating still carrying that bruise. Sort all that out went to open a bottle of wine. There was no corkscrew in the room. Move on my second night. The restaurant was not open, no where to get a drink of food nearby. Grab some drinks for queen street mall not so far but loads of steps very high elevation hot walk. Ask for some ice - refused saying restaurant not open and they had no ice for guests. – this is about the point I broke. In short: Lifts in disrepair No linen in my room Dangerous bath Poor amenities in the room (no ice cubes in the freezer no corkscrew) The tissue box had 2 tissues in it – was empty on arrival NO ice is available to guests NO Restaurant as advertised TV limited channels working most coming up black but with sound. So not a place I would recommend or rush back to.
