We offer ensuite and budget rooms and a 24 hour reception. Only a three minute stroll through St David?????????????s Park is the famous Salamanca precinct, where every Saturday the Salamanca Market is held, and within a five minute walk you will find yourself in the heart of the city and the main shopping area. We are also only five minutes from the Hobart waterfront where you can take a cruise around the harbour and surrounding areas.

Welcome Stranger Hotel is centrally located in Hobart. We are within easy walking distance from the city centre, the Salamanca Market which is held every Saturday of the year and the Tasmanian Tourist and Travel Information Centre is only a short stroll down Davey St, here you can book any number of day trips in and around Hobart. We are only a short walk from the historic water front and Battery Point areas, where there are numerous restaurants, cafes, art galleries and museums to enjoy. During the Summer months you can look forward to the Summer Festival, including the finish of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race which starts in Sydney on Boxing Day with the first yachts arriving in Hobart within 2 to 3 days. Also to enjoy during this time is The Taste of Tasmanian Festival, where you can sample some of Tassie?????????????s culinary delights and see some great entertainment all under one roof, entry is free of charge. Wonderful views can be enjoyed from the top of Mt Wellington, which is only 20 minutes from the city and easily accessed by bus or car. Tasmania has become well know both nationally and internationally for its cool climate wines, with several wineries located within only a half an hour to an hour out of the city.
