What isn't there to do in Marylebone? Right in the heart of London, this enterprising area is packed tightly with history, shopping, museums, a huge park and even a train station that features on the UK Monopoly board. It's all here and within walking distance, or just a stop or two on the Underground, from your Marylebone hotel.
Shopping is probably the biggest highlight of the area and if you've got money to burn you'll be more than welcome. Bond Street has been known for its high end boutiques for hundreds of years while the Selfridges department store is famed for its upmarket food hall and shopping. On the more affordable side of things, Oxford Street is world famous and lined with popular retail outlets. Or, stroll down to Savile Row for a tailored suit unmatchable around the globe for its quality; just be prepared to reach deep into your pockets for that quality. A great place to start an afternoon of retail therapy, or retail drudgery if you're a man, is Oxford Circus Underground Station.
Regent's Park is easily accessible from our central London hotels and offers a peaceful escape from the hectic streets of the capital. Wander around the acres of well kept land and soon enough you will bump into London Zoo. Opened over 180 years ago, the zoo was initially a space for scientific observation but later became open to the public and we would highly recommend a visit. From our hotels in central London another place worth visiting is Madame Tussauds' wax work museum which houses remarkable likenesses of celebrities. As life like as the wax works appear we're afraid they won't be able to sign your autograph books.
London boasts some incredible art collections and most of them are free to see. This includes the Wallace Collection. Set in an old London town house the museum is full of 18th century art as well as antique furniture and objects.
