The city of Cambridge is the highlight of the county and this is mostly due to the romance it inspires. Just south of the city is Duxford Airport which is where the nationally famous Duxford Imperial War Museum is located. The story of British aviation is told here with over 30 aircraft illustrating the history of crucial events such as the Battle of Britain. Another highlight of the county is Wimpole Hall and Home Farm. Nearby Duxford Museum, Wimpole is a classic English stately home built back in 1643. Now owned by the National Trust, Wimpole is open to the public and is a great example of traditional English high society. Part of the estate is the 200 year old Home Farm which is known for its rare farmyard animals.
