Tucked away on the southern tip of Phuket, Rawai is famed for its sprinkling of offshore islands and luxury resorts. With a reputation for tantalisingly fresh seafood as well, this corner of Phuket is ideal for indulgence and relaxation. Book a stay in a Rawai beach resort and make the most of the secluded islands and paradisiacal living. Rawai is one of the original Phuket beach destinations and although the mainland beach isn't the most idyllic it is the option of staying in a luxury resort and taking advantage of the tiny offshore islands which sells the destination. Ko Bon, Ko Kaew, Ko Lon, Ko Aeo, Ko Hae can all be visited during the day by chartered long tail boats. Hop from one island to the next to check out the different beaches and spend the day swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing. From your Rawai guesthouse one of the best nearby mainland beaches is Laem Ka Beach. Usually occupied by Thai locals, Laem Ka makes a nice break from the usual tourist populated spots and is actually a beautiful highlight in its own right. Return back to Rawai for dinner in the evening and gorge on the sumptuous seafood being served at the various restaurants along the seafront. Plenty of bars and clubs are also open after hours if you want to take the entertainment late into the night. One of the most popular attractions of the area is Laem Promthep, the southernmost point of Phuket which offers remarkable views of the open ocean. Come at sunrise or sunset for the most spectacular scenes. Not far from Laem Promthep is Windmill Viewpoint, which is similar but is notably decorated by wind turbines elegantly sprouting from the land.
