Storm Bay is situated on the southern tip of the Tasman Peninsula, one hour from Hobart International Airport and ten minutes from historic Port Arthur. Besides being famous for its historic sights the Tasman Peninsula is famous for its unspoilt natural beauty. Described as ‘a world of its own’ and the ‘the undiscovered part of Tasmania’, the peninsula has many activities that are all close to Storm Bay.
Sailing: Calm sailing in Parson’s Bay or ocean sailing in Storm Bay.
Fishing: Either from the beach at White beach (one minute’s walk) or by boat from the boat ramp (one minute’s drive). Deep sea fishing is available and the Tasman Peninsula holds many world records for tuna and other deep water species.
Golf: Available at the Tasman golf course. A beautiful course that runs along the coast five minutes from Port Arthur.
Horse riding: available nearby, beach and forest riding.
Surfing: Available at Roaring Beach, ten minutes drive from Storm Bay. Or for the brave, the incredible waves at Shipstern Bluff which is easily accessible from White Beach boat ramp.
Bushwalking: Some of the best bushwalking in Tasmania is had in the Tasman Peninsula. Storm Bay is situated on the edge of a National Forest and some of the bushwalks around Port Arthur are a never to be missed experience.
Diving: World class diving from Eaglehawk Neck. Special discount dive trips available through Storm Bay.
Sea kayaking: Available from the many beaches.
