Sandilands' studios/ apartments(upstairs)are located in the centre of historic Portland, Victoria's first permanent white settlement. Portland was settled in November 1834 by the Henty brothers. Sandilands, circa 1856, was built of Portland bricks for a Doctor Sutherland. An elegant double storey Georgian style building, set back from the street, Sandilands is an iconic Portland destination having served the local and wider rural community for the past fifty years as a guesthouse and more recently, a restaurant and function centre.
