- Drool over the large trout at the Salmon Ponds where they have been bred since 1864 and spy the shy platypus if youre lucky. Or why not stroll through the trout fishing museum or just feed the fish
- Drop in on Something Wild wildlife sanctuary at National Park for a close encounter of a furry kind.
- Walk in Mt. Field National Park and visit the Russell, Lady Barron and Horse Falls and marvel at the height of the tallest flowering plant in the world on the Tall Trees walk.
- Drive on to Maydena and visit the Valley of the Giants in the Styx Valley.
- Drive further toward Strathgordon to savour the unforgettable scenery of Lake Pedder in the spectacular south-west World Heritage Area. Not for the faint-hearted is the climb down on to the mighty dam wall an engineering feat said to hold back a volume of water 30 times greater than that of Sydney Harbour.
- Turn off on to the Scotts Peak road and look out for the Creepy Crawly Walk, a short walk to stretch your legs and solve the murder mystery.
- For chocoholics there?s always the Cadbury Chocolate Factory visit but bookings are essential.
- Wine tasting at Derwent Estates, Lubianas and Moorilla wineries and the many others which can be found en-route when visiting the historic town of Richmond
- Drive to Bothwell and visit the oldest Golf Course in the southern hemisphere and its golfing museum at Ratho.
- Or if the city beckons, visit Hobart for the Salamanca Markets (Saturdays only), drive to the top of Mt. Wellington, try your luck at the Wrest Point Casino or visit the beautiful Botanical Gardens.
