Marlborough has a wine and food festival held every February.
Hunters Garden Marlborough is an annual garden event held in November every year.
Classic fighters' Marlborough Air Show is held at Easter every 2nd year, alternating with Wanaka.
Action seekers can enjoy white-water rafting, jet boating, horse trekking, 4WD treks, hunting, diving, kayaking, water-skiing, swimming, water boat cruises, hiking, parachute jumping, gliding, scenic flights, and mountain biking.
Queen Charlotte Sound is a popular place to visit getting there by boat or by walking track. Visiors can also take in Motuara Island which is managed by the Conservation Department, it is an island for endangered birdlife.
