Beach and Watersports
With the Whitsundays just outside your front door, having fun and games in and on the water is what Hamilton Island is all about. Snorkel the coral of the Great Barrier Reef, go diving with tropical fish, play beach games by the sea on a white sand playing field, fly across the water on a jet ski or slow down the pace and see nature up close on a sea kayak.

Relax & Rejuvenate
After enjoying the rush of sailing, bushwalking, snorkelling and diving, take time out to unwind and recharge on your island holiday. Check in for a soothing spa treatment, float in the cool of one of the many island pools or spread out your towel for a day on the sand at Catseye Beach.

Tours & Cruises
Fun day trips and exciting excursions depart from Hamilton Island for sights near and far. Cruise to the Great Barrier Reef or fly over the amazing natural wonder on a scenic flight. Spend the day on the world’s favourite sands at Whitehaven Beach, and experience the beauty of the Whitsunday Islands on a day-long cruise.

Hamilton Island Golf Club
Hamilton Island Golf Club is just a five-minute ferry ride away on neighbouring Dent Island. The world-class par 71, 18-hole championship course makes the most of the island’s valleys and ridges, with a challenging layout and 360 degree views of Hamilton Island and the Whitsundays. To celebrate that eagle or hole-in-one round, relax with a leisurely meal in the clubhouse restaurant and bar.

Sailing and Boating
Spoil yourself with fine food and wine on Hamilton Island. Watch the sun set over the water at the superb Hamilton Island is the home of Whitsundays sailing and the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. From a sunny day trip on the reef to a week-long luxury yacht charter, sailing is the best way to explore the Whitsunday’s 74 tranquil islands. With a choice of bareboat yachting, skippered catamaran cruising and fully crewed motor yacht charters, there’s a tailor-made boating experience to suit every sailor.

Adventures
Pulses race and adrenaline levels rise with Hamilton Island’s adventure activities. Race a go-kart like a Formula 1 driver or roar along bush trails on a quad bike. For a change of pace, put on your hiking shoes for a bushwalk with Whitsunday views, hire a dinghy for a day of on-water exploration or have fun getting around the island in a golf buggy.

Fun & Games
Hamilton Island has over 60 different activities to choose from when holidaying in the Whitsundays. Test your skills with a round of mini golf or put the family to the test with a game of aquatic golf. For those after more of a thrill, a visit to the Hamilton Island shooting range is a must. Here you can put your eye and aim to the test as you take on this Olympic sport.

For a truly sensory experience, Spa qualia is a must. Ideally situated at the centre of the resort to catch the soft sea breeze and take in the tranquil views of the Whitsundays, the spa is the perfect place in which to indulge and unwind.

Spa qualia's menu is authentically Australian, incorporating treatments that have been thoughtfully designed to rebalance the synergy between mind and body and to capture the essence of Australia and the Great Barrier Reef.

qualia Activities - Activities in Queensland's Whitsunday Islands
qualia’s Activities Department has a host of adventurous recreational pursuits available for guests. From chartered cruises onboard our exclusive custom-built cruiser – The Atomic Pebble Beach – to guided hobie tours around the Whitsunday islands... there is something for everyone to enjoy at qualia Activities!

Our Activities Team is located on Pebble Beach, just downstairs from the restaurant, and is open between 08:30 to 16:30 daily.

Atomic 'MV Pebble Beach'
The Atomic is qualia’s 45-foot, custom-built luxury cruising vessel. Guests can enjoy a range of cruising options including trips to Whitehaven Beach and half-day or full-day private charters to awesome dive and snorkelling destinations around the Whitsundays. We also offer sunset cruises which run mainly on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings (weather permitting), and private sunset cruises are available on request.

Atomic cruises include:
* An experienced skipper and personal host/snorkel guide
* Snorkel gear, floatation devices and suits
* Gourmet cuisine and non-alcoholic beverages (alcohol is charged on consumption– personal requests are welcome)
* Maximum of 12 guests per cruise

Beach Drop-offs
We have six beautiful beaches for guests to choose from – two are great for snorkelling while the other four are more secluded. Beaches include North Henning, West Henning, Fitzalan, Beach 25, Peacock Beach and Greenhaven (gourmet picnics are available on request).

Our Activities Team will set up the beach with an umbrella, mats and towels. A first aid kit/vinegar, sunblock, Aero Guard and snorkelling gear is also available on request. To ensure our guest’s safety, we provide a map and two-way radio which can be used in the event of an emergency or to let us know when they would like to be picked up.

Sea Kayaks
Two double kayaks and three single kayaks – one of which has a perspex bottom to view the coral – are available free of charge to qualia guests.

Stand Up Paddleboards
We have two stand-up paddleboards which guests can use free of charge during beach hours.

Hobie Catamarans
Another complimentary activity... our talented team of sailing professionals is on hand to give sailing lessons where needed or to advise the more experienced yachties about sailing in the Whitsundays. Guided hobie tours are also available for those guests who just want to sit back, relax and enjoy the amazing scenery.

Snorkelling
Snorkelling directly off Pebble Beach is a great place to view a variety of marine life and coral. The Activities Team has an extensive range of masks, snorkels, fins, stinger suits, reef booties and buoyancy aids for guests to enjoy. If guests want to snorkel at other destinations in the area, the team is more than happy to drop them off at a spot of their choice.
