Every year at the beginning of May pass along ?Via Cassia?, just in front of the hotel, cars of the epoch coming from all over the world and taking part to the well known ?MILLE MIGLIA?.
Cars follow each year the same route while being observed by an interested public.
The famous ?GIRO D?ITALIA? (tour of Italy by bike) also pass along ?Via Cassia?, which here cross one of the most authentic part of Tuscany, famous for its amazing views over vineyards, olive groves and coloured fields.
Being just 10 min. away from Siena, you should not miss the PALIO on the 2nd July and 16th August, which memories and rites come from past times and which you should personally live to understand the excitement of the atmosphere.
This is a land of thermal springs too, just in the ?Crete Senesi?, from Rapolano Terme to Bagno Vignoni, you can relax your body and try all benefits of spring waters.
In the land around Siena a rich calendar of old celebrations takes place all over the year like: the medieval festivals of Monteriggioni and Murlo in July, where locals wear storic dresses and show visitors ancient games; or the many celebrations dedicated to chestnuts in Campiglia d?Orcia in October, to wine, to truffles in San Giovanni d?Asso in November and to oil some days later in Castiglion d?Orcia.
In December the nearby villages celebrates Christmas in different ways: in Lucignano d?Arbia, close to the hotel, locals act out nativity scenes, while you can warm yourself by the fire of the torches and taste handmade typical cookies; in Abbadia San Salvatore (only 60 min from our hotel) the inhabitants give their best to buid the highest torch, burning the whole night before Christmas.
