Fagnano Lake: Located 100 km north of Ushuaia (on National Route No. 3) past the Cañadón del Río Olivia (Gorge of Olivia River), the winter centers and the Garibaldi Pass (450 m. over sea level) and the area of the sawmills. This is an immense lake, on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Tolhuin. Approximate duration of the excursion: seven hours.

Punta Páramo
104 km to the North we can find this strange natural phenomenon, that looks like a narrow way that gets into the sea and that seems to make up a dock represented in the Bay of San Sebastián. This place of strange beauty and solitude was selected at the beginning of the 20th century by the Rumanian adventurer Julio Popper, who developed the gold industry and created his own currency.

Explore Tierra del Fuego
The circuit Explore Tierra del Fuego is a journey that relates us to the history of the Pioneers of Tierra del Fuego, especially with its varied nature. The story of Julio Popper and the gold rush in Tierra del Fuego is the first ingredient of this expedition. We visit the North of the Isla Grande, a desert land surrounded by the sea, where men fought against men, and against nature in their struggle to conquer lands and wealth. The second step is the story of the Familia Bridges (Bridges Family) and their special relationship with the natives of Tierra del Fuego: the selk'nam (guanaco hunters, inhabitants of the woods and steppe) and the yámanas (canoeists, inhabitants of the coasts of the Beagle Channel for thousands of years). We stay then in Estancia Viamonte, in the steppe of Tierra del Fuego, in order to get to know the lifestyle in a Patagonic Estancia and the descendants of this pioneer family. From there we start trekking for seven days, walking about the mountains of the selk'nam and discovering details of their culture, to eventually get to the coasts of the Beagle Channel, land of the yámanas. We then have a break for one day in Ushuaia, the City of the End of the World, to get deeper into the history of the place, this time following the trace of the yámanas, from Ushuaia to Estancia Harberton, first estancia in Tierra del Fuego, a place where the first encounter of the Bridges and the natives took place and the place where their friendship began. To sum up, this is a journey where we propose travelling almost all over Tierra del Fuego, in very close contact with the place, its history and its nature.
Martial Glacier
(7 km.) After travelling through a winding road that goes up the Martial range, we get to the base of the ski run, where we take the ski lift to go up. Once up there, we enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Beagle Channel, the city, the Glacier and even the Isla Navarino (Chile). If we continue going uphill, after walking for two hours and a half, we can finally experience feeling the ice in our hands.

Estancia Harberton
(Paved road 40 km., gravelled road 45 km.) This is the first estancia of the province, located 85 km. east of Ushuaia. We can get there by land (National Route No. 3 and complementary road "J") or by sea. It is considered to be very important from a historic point of view, since its owners are descendants of the Anglican missionary Thomas Bridge, who at the beginning of the 20th century lived with the natives in this area. Once there, we can visit the Acatushún Museum, where skeletons of South American sea birds and mammals are on display.

San Pablo Cape
(Paved road 59 km., gravelled road 81 km.) Along one of the most attractive roads of the province, where we can very easily see guanacos, foxes and condors, we get to San Pablo Cape, located 180 km northeast from Ushuaia, next to the estuary of the rivers Ladrillero and San Pablo, both apt for fishing.
Hemispheric net of beach birds
The coast of Tierra del Fuego (from San Sebastián Bay to San Pablo Cape) is an of international relevance for the survival of diverse species of migratory sea birds, some of which spend their non-reproductive phase of their lives there, and they migrate in Autumn to the Northern Hemisphere, where nesting takes place.

Island Core and estancias
Leaving Ushuaia along the National Route No. 3 northbound and after 90 km., we find Tolhuin Town, gateway to the Island Core. From this place, and along the complementary route "H", we get to the strikingly beautiful Yehuin Lake. It is a perfect place to go trekking and horseriding.

Escondido Lake
(Paved road 36 km., gravelled road 24 km.) Going through the Andes Fueguinos 60 km north of Ushuaia (on National Route No. 3), and passing through the main winter centers of the province, we find this beautiful lake in the middle of the Andes and at the base of the Garibaldi Pass. We can walk about the mountains surrounding it and practice sport fishing. Approximate duration of the excursion: seven hours.
Tierra del Fuego National Park
Located 11 km. west of Ushuaia, it is the only National Park in our country that has sea coasts (Beagle Channel). We travel westbound along the National Route No. 3, going around the River Pipo Valley until we get to the entrance of the National Park. We continue on the way leading us to Ensenada Bay, where we arrive at the coast of the Beagle Channel, getting from there a wonderful view of the Redonda Island. After that, we take the route again, passing through a thick forest of lengas, ñires and guindos (native species of forest trees), until we cross the bridge over Lapataia River, an interesting area to walk around (different options: Paseo de la Isla (Walk about the Island), Laguna Negra (Black Lagoon), Mirador Lapataia (Lapataia Viewpoint), etc.). Finally, through a winding road, we get to Lapataia Bay, the end of the National Route No. 3. From this place we can get, after a short walk, to the coasts of the Bay, an ideal place to sight aquatic birds, like ducks, cauquenes, plovers, etc.

Salesian Mission
The premises of the mission make this an interesting historic and cultural circuit.
Founded in 1893 by Monsignor Fagnano to evangelise the selk'nam (also called onas), it became a primary school when these natives disappeared and in 1983 it was declared National Historic Monument. The chapel, the house of the mission, the house of María Auxiliadora´s sisters and the Regional Museum Monsignor Fagnano, make up an interesting circuit that takes us to past times.
rain of the End of the World
To the west of the city, by means of a replica of the "Train of the Prisoners" we go along one of the paths used by the prisoners, many years ago, to supply the city with wood. Apart from going through hundred-year-old forests, rivers, valleys and peat bogs of great beauty, we can stop at the Macarena waterfall and in the last stretch of the tour we can visit the National Park of Tierra del Fuego, where this pleasant journey finishes.

Yehuin Lake
(Paved road 25 km., gravelled road 100 km.) About 160 km north of Ushsuaia, going first along National Route No. 3 and then the complementary route "H", we find the lakes Yehuin, Chepelmut and Yakush, all of which are perfect to fish trout, take a short motorboat trip or sight local fauna. These activities can be complemented with the alternative rural tourism in different estancias. In this region we can also find the Shenolsh Hill, natural habitat of the Patagonic condor of the Andes, where we can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the area.
