While you are on the Island, be sure to stroll along the Central Promenade and take in scenic views of Victoria Harbour, the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Central Plaza and the Star Ferry Piers. Also not to be missed is Man Mo Temple, the Island's oldest temple built in the 1840s, it is located on Hollywood Road. For a little free fun why not try out the world's longest outdoor escalator which runs Central to Soho and further up to the mid-level residential developments. The majority of shopping opportunities occur in Central: Browse a variety of shops in the International Finance Centre Mall, above Central station; find a plethora of goods available at the Stanley Market; and shop for leather goods, watches and Chinese dress on Li Yuen Street West and Li Yuen Street East. Causeway Bay also offers numerous shops in the World Trade Centre and Times Square. Cat Street, in the Western District, contains stalls selling souvenirs, Buddha statues and Mao memorabilia and you will find traditional Chinese food and household items on Chun Yeung Street, North Point. |
