Location, location, location! Set along bustling HuangPu River, Four Points by Sheraton Shanghai Pudong is ideally located in the heart of Pu Dong New District – Lujiazui, which is also the financial and trade district of Shanghai. Therefore, our hotel is perfectly situated for business and leisure travelers.
For business travelers, the Metro Station Line 4 is just a stone’s throw away. The Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is a quick 30-minute taxi ride, whilst many of Shanghai’s main corporate offices are within easy reach. Besides, the Shanghai World Expo site of 2010 is only 5 minutes’ drive from here. What’s more, we offer a great location when visiting Zhang Jiang High Tech Park, Jinqiao Export Processing Zone, and Wingaoqiao Free Trade Zone.
Those leisure travelers will find that just a short drive away, you can get to Shanghai’s legendary waterfront (the Bund) and Nanjing Road – China’s most famous shopping street. We are also within easy reach of both old Shanghai (Yuyuan Garden), which is a classical garden in downtown, boasting a history over 400 years, and the contemporary Shanghai (Xintiandi), which provides you with a window to the past and the future.
Pudong Lujiazui Zone
To the East Bank of Huangpu River lies the new Pudong District with high-rising banking buildings and the “World’s Third Tallest TV Tower” - The Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It’s the finance and trade center of Shanghai.
Oriental Pearl TV Tower
Oriental Pearl TV Tower is the modern symbol of Shanghai City. Standing beside the Huangpu River and the Bund with a height of 468 meters (1536 feet), it is the tallest TV tower in Asia and the third tallest in the world. This unusual structure that dominates the skyline is a great attraction to tourists.
The Bund
Situated on the east bank of the HuangPu River, here, one can enjoy the bracing air, fine sunshine as well as watching shows along the river. The new finance and commercial houses cluster together along the south of the Bund, while along the west there is a wealth of grand buildings in European styles of the nineteen-twenties, thirties and early forties. Marshal Chen Yi's statue looks down on the square, where lively musicians gather to play and sing. At night, bright lights add to the happy atmosphere as people stroll along the wide riverside promenade.
Xintiandi Shikumen
Shanghai Xintiandi is where “yesterday meets tomorrow”. Shanghai Xintiandi’s Shikumen attraction was created by converting residential blocks retaining their antique walls and tiles into a multifunctional dining, retail and entertainment center flowing with restaurants, boutiques, cafes and bars of an international standard.
People’s Square
People’s Square is the second largest square in China. Shanghai Municipal Government, Shanghai Grand Theatre and City Planning Hall are all placed there. In addition, people can go shopping and have a rest in the Underground Bazaar. The square is arranged with good taste, providing a comfortable environment for people to relax.
Nanjing Road
Nanjing Road, which is 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) long, is considered to be the "No. 1 commercial street in China". Here, you will find over 600 shops which are visited by an average of 1.7 million people every day. If you like shopping, do not miss it! If you want to experience the historical and cultural atmosphere of the city, Shanghai Xin Tian Di is a wise choice. Composed of Shikumen and modern architectural style, now it has become a hot and fashionable pedestrian street in the center of the city.
Shanghai Museum
Shanghai Museum is a veritable treasure house of ancient Chinese art and houses 120,000 precious relics. Bronzes, pottery, paintings and calligraphies are distinctive features of the Museum's collection. Seen from above, the Museum resembles a large bronze mirror of the Han Dynasty (206BC -220). From the distance, it looks like a bronze Ding, an ancient cooking vessel that contains so many mementos of the 5,000-year-old history of Chinese civilization. Moreover, Shanghai government has listed the construction of museums in the cultural and tourism construction programs to record Shanghai's economic development as a reference for other cities.
Shanghai Grand Theatre
Located at the People’s Square, Shanghai Grand Theatre combines the Eastern and Western flavor. It looks like a crystal palace in the night light as the white arc-shaped roof joins co-herently with the light-sensitive glass curtain wall. It has lyric, drama and studio theatres where such programs as the operas, ballets, musicals and symphonies can be performed.
Yuyuan Garden
Yuyuan Garden is the largest garden among Shanghai's ancient gardens, with architectural styles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The garden has six areas, each with its own style. The Grand Rockery, in the center of the Garden, is the most renowned sight here.
Chenghuang Miao Temple (The City God Temple)
The Temple of the Town Deity is located south of theYuyuan Gardan. It forms the core of the old city of Shanghai. Today the "City God Temple" not only refers to the large temple complex, but also the traditional district of commerce in the city, surrounding the temple. There are over a hundred stores and shops in this area, and most of these store buildings are nearly a century old.
The Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China
The fist National Congress of the Communist Party of China was secretly held on July 23 in 1921, which proclaimed the founding of the Party. The building is a typical Shanghai "stone-arched gate" construction. The outer walls are made of blue bricks and the arched gates are marked with red decorations and copper hoops are glittering on the black doors. Now, the furniture in the sitting room is replica. There are also wax statues of participants in the congress, precious documents and other exhibits, recording the historic period of the beginning of the Party and its activities in the following years.
Jade Buddha Temple
The Jade Buddha Temple is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Shanghai. As with many modern Chinese Buddhist temples, the current temple draws from both the Pure Land and Chan traditions of Mahayana Buddhism. It was founded in 1882 with two jade Buddha statues imported to Shanghai from Burma by sea. These were a sitting Buddha (1.95 metres tall, 3 tonnes), and a smaller reclining Buddha representing Buddha's death. The temple now also contains a much larger reclining Buddha made of marble, donated from Singapore, and visitors may mistake this larger sculpture for the original, smaller piece.
Longhua Pagoda and Longhua Temple
Located on the Longhua Road in the south of the city, Longhua Park is famous for its ancient Longhua Pagoda and Longhua Temple, the Evening Bell-Striking Ceremony and the peach blossoms.
Besides, if you would like a suggestion for dining or entertainment options, our 24-hour concierge desk is always ready to help.
A fascinating blend of a sophisticated international city and ancient tradition, Shanghai is an intriguing destination. There will never be a dull moment in this high-energy city with endless hours of shopping pleasure, vibrant nightlife, and cultural highlights.
