Stroll around the corner to the wharf and catch a boat to go whale or dolphin watching, sightseeing up the river, or on a thrilling jet boat ride. If you’re feeling energetic, hire a kayak or a jet ski.
Visit some of Port Macquarie’s historic churches, lookouts, galleries and maritime museums. Spend some time in the Historical Cemetery and Gardens then see if you can spot a koala during a walk in the spectacular Kooloonbung Creek Nature Park. You will certainly see some flying foxes. Then don’t forget to visit the famous Koala Hospital – it’s free!
If you want to venture further afield, stop in at Cassegrain Wines for tastings and cellar door sales, and go to Ricardo’s Tomatoes, sample some of their award-winning preserves and pick your own strawberries.
