Located just outside the heart of the city, the Coogee Bay Hotel is conveniently located close to the beach, the city and the airport.
Right on Coogee beach and only a stone's through from places such as Randwick Racecourse, Aussie Stadium, Sydney Cricket Ground and Fox Studios. The hotel is perfect for a stay any time of the year with heaps of things to do!
Swimming - Coogee Beach has calm surf most of the year and water temperatures are comfortable for swimming from September to March. There are also some salt water pools just south of the beach. The most famous is Wylie's Bath on Neptune Street.
Surfing - Maroubra beach south of Coogee, and Bronte & Bondi Beaches north of Coogee are located between 5-15 minutes away.
Coastal Walks - One of Sydney's greatest assets and favourite walks - follow the coast from Coogee Beach past historic Waverley Cemetery (location of Henry Lawson's grave and the largest memorial to the Irish pople outside of Ireland) through to bustling Bondi Beach. Magnificent panoramic views and coastal flora and fauna abound.
Golf - 5 outstanding courses can be found in the area - The Australian, The Coast, New South Wales, St Michael's & Randwick.
Tennis - Tennis courts are located on the corner of Brook & Dolphin St, Coogee.
Diving - Scuba Dive and follow the diving trail through the majestic underwater paradise of Gordon's Bay.
Shopping - Check out nearby Westfield shopping at either Bondi Junction or Eastgardens. Or for specialty shops, travel to Sydney CBD for the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), The Strand Arcade, and Martin Place. For those chasing a bargain try Paddy's Markets in Haymarket. All locations easily accessed by Bus or Taxi.
Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Museums,Galleries & Libraries - Travel to the CBD to visit all of these attractions easily with buses leaving Coogee Beach every 15 minutes.
