The Lanes Bar & Restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere with an informal ambience, serving freshly cooked dishes using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Recognition of this is by the hotel being awarded an AA Rossette for quality food for 12 consecutive years. Cross Lanes was originally built as a private house in the reign of Queen Victoria and converted to a hotel in 1959. The Victorian features and homely feeling have been carefully preserved to this day. The superb oak panelling in the front hall, older than the original house, dates back to the Jacobean period circa 1618.
