Being in such a beautiful area of Queensland with perfect weather, there are an abundance of outdoor activities on Magnetic Island. Imagine just chilling out on a beautiful beach without any crowds - you may even have the whole beach to yourself!
Magnetic Island is really about getting out and about and discovering everything for yourself....
Use the free Magnetic Island Guide to navigate one of the many well signposted walking tracks around the island. The Forts Walk in Horseshoe Bay is a must.
-Feed the rock wallabies at the old jetty in Arcadia - you can by pellets to feed them from some local stores
-Feed the lorikeets and take great photos at Bungalow Bay at 4pm every afternoon
-Hire a 4WD and cruise up to West Point to watch the sunset (note to self - take champagne)
-Go fishing at West Point or from the jetty in Picnic Bay - fishing gear is for hire at Nelly Bay Fish n Fuel
-There are a myriad of water sports available with watercraft hire at the beachfront in Horseshoe Bay.
-Hire snorkel equipment and snorkel off the beach at Alma, Arthur and Florence Bays. Or you can just relax and take slip right into 'Island Time?.....just chill out or take part in some of the organised tours the island has to offer.
-Organised Tours on Magnetic Island
-Visit the koalas at Bungalow Bay Koala Village. There three guided tours daily around the Sanctuary with a champagne bush tucker brunch every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. You even have the opportunity to have your photo taken holding a koala!
-Day tours to the Yongala Wrecks with Adrenalin Dive. Dive Australia's No 1 Wreck Dive site. To dive the Yongala, you must have completed your open water certificate and have a least 6 dives logged. You cannot snorkel the wreck as it is up to 27 metres deep. This dive is not to be missed!! This dive company also do day trips to Wheelers Reef which is in pristine condition.
-Guided Jet Ski Tours depart daily from Horseshoe Bay. You can circumnavigate the island on the three hour tour or take in the top end on the one hour tour.
-Horse riding on the beach with Blueys Horse Ranch. This is a fantastic photo opportunity as you ride your horse through a bush track and then take the horse swimming in the ocean. The rides cater for beginners through to experienced riders.
-Guided Sea Kayaking tours with Magnetic Island Sea Kayaks. Spot turtles, dugongs and other marine life on this eco accredited tour which departs Horseshoe Bay every morning. They also do evening kayak tours 3 times a week.
-Experience a joyride in a sea plane with Red Baron Seaplanes from Horseshoe Bay. This famous plane has featured in the movie The Phantom and is now doing flights around the island. This really is the only way to see the whole island.
Guided Tours on Magnetic Island
-Tour the island in style in a funky stretch jeep with Tropicana Tours. This tour takes in all the best sites the island has to offer and finishes at West Point to watch the sunset.

This tour is a great introduction to the island; the 3 hour tour takes you around the island with an informative guide.

-Providence Sailing, half day snorkelling trips and sunset sailing adventures on board a classic schooner. What a great way to relax for the day.
-Jazza Sailing Tours Sail around the island while enjoying the tunes from a well known local jazz musician.
-Fishing Trips and half day Snorkelling and Island Cruising leaving daily from Nelly Bay. All equipment is included at a modest price.

Under The Water
Do your PADI open water, advanced or dive masters course with Pleasure Divers. The prices are reasonable and you dive right off the beach at the front of the dive shop.
Take in a Show
Go and see a Cabaret Show, showing at Alla Capri Stage Door every Friday and Saturday night. The shows are hilarious!
