About TAS

Who ever said bigger is better has obviously never been to Tasmania. With more to boast about than just Princess Mary and the Tassie Devil, Australia’s smallest state has natural beauty, a grizzly convict history and great food to boot.

First up on your Tassie itinerary is nature. Tasmania has 19 national parks that cover remote beaches to ancient forests. In the Central Highlands and Derwent Valley you can explore the Mt Field National Park, home of the spectacular Russel Falls. Cradle Mountain and the surrounding Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National park offers some of Australia’s most popular bush walks with amazing views of the park’s glacial lakes and jagged mountain peaks. Our Freycinet accommodation is the perfect place to stay to explore Coles Bay and the beauty of Freycinet National Park.

Explore Tasmania’s capital with our great range of Hobart accommodation. Hobart is one of Australia’s oldest cities and was recently voted the second friendliest in the world by Conde Nast Traveller magazine. Salamanca Place on Sullivans Cove is a lively precinct home to heaps of cafes, restaurants, bars, galleries and a weekend market. The Museum of Old and New Art, or MONA, is located 15 minutes north of the city and definitely worth the trek. On the way, stop in at the Cadbury Chocolate Factory, need we say more?

Launceston is Tassie’s second largest city, and is located two and half hours’ drive north of Hobart via the convict build Heritage Highway. Launceston is well known for its impressive Victorian and Edwardian buildings and is also home to the Boag’s Centre for Beer Lovers which has been brewing since 1881. On your way here, take your time to properly explore the area with our Heritage Highway accommodation.

In Southern Tasmania, the Huon Valley is home to vineyards and orchards and our Huon, Channel and Bury accommodation offer a great base to explore the region. While on the west coast, stay in Queenstown or Strahan and experience one of the world’s great railway journeys, the West Coast Wilderness Railway, which runs through the green rainforest gorge of the King River.
