Sunshine Coast Accommodation
Sunshine Coast Hotels
The Sunshine Coast is a hard to beat holiday destination. With its golden sun-drenched beaches, breezy seaside towns, rugged mountain hikes and unique markets, chances are it has everything you need. Just one hour north of Brisbane, “the Sunny Coast” is a fave getaway for the city’s locals, but why should they have all the fun? Book your Sunshine Coast hotel with us and start hiking, swimming, surfing, adventuring and living life to the fullest in a region that lives up to its name.
The Sunny Coast is the third largest city in Queensland, after Brisbane and the more developed Gold Coast. In 1770, Captain Cook became the first European to spot the Glass House Mountains. In the 1860s and 1870s, many of the Sunny Coast’s towns began as timber ports, and roads were built for hauling timber. In the 1890s, small farming became the main industry. And after WW2, surfing and tourism started to take off.
The beaches are something special on the Sunny Coast. Clean and white, they’re patrolled by lifesavers and often blissfully free of crowds. There’s the live music and bustling markets of Peregian Beach, the safe swimming and surf beaches of Noosa and the awesome breaks of Mooloolaba’s Point Cartwright.
Fishing or a scenic walk more your style? Maybe you’d be interested in a Bribie Island stay?
Hiking and the Hinterland
With all of the Sunshine Coast’s national parks, forests and mountains, you’ll find no shortage of places to hike or bushwalk. Discover the hoop pine woods of Amamoor State Forest or the waterfall of Kondalilla Falls National Park, in the charming Hinterland village of Montville.
Keen hikers can take on the mountains of the Glasshouse Mountains National Park, like Mt. Tibrogargan or Mt. Beerwah. There are bushwalking routes to the summits as well as abseiling and rock climbing sites.
Take a photo and check out the markets at the Big Pineapple, in the Nambour Region. Spend time with the animals – including crocs – at The Australia Zoo, home of the Irwin family. Swim with sharks, hang with seals or walk through an 80m underwater tunnel at Mooloolaba’s Underwater World, Queensland’s biggest oceanarium.
In Palmview, you get two tourist attractions in the one spot: Ettamogah Pub, a quirky-looking bar based on the cartoons of Ken Maynard, and Aussie World, a theme park packed with rides for the whole family.
Shopping, dining and nightlife
The best shopping on the Coast can be found at the markets, like the Eumundi Market, where handmade art meets fresh food and live entertainment. The towns are full of delicious restaurants, the Hinterland has amazing wineries, and the region’s towns have a lively nightlife scene with live music and clubbing.
If you’re convinced that the Coast has the most, book your cheap flight to Brisbane and Sunshine Coast hotel with us and get a bus, train or hire car to the Sunshine Coast. Big family trip? We have family-friendly accommodation with two and three-bedroom rooms on the Sunshine Coast. Wherever you stay, it's sure to be a summer you’ll remember.
