Beach holiday or bush getaway? Can’t decide? Why not have the best of both worlds at Currumbin? This little coastal town is located on the Gold Coast and is popular with tourists wanting to catch some sun and surf, trek through the bush or meet some of Australia’s fuzzy and feathered friends. Are you one of them? If so, check out our Currumbin accommodation!

If hitting the beach is your goal at Currumbin, you’ll want to visit Currumbin Alley. A beach with blue-green water, golden sand and gentle waves, it’s no surprise that this is one of the more famous surf breaks on the Gold Coast. Here, kite-surfing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and of course, surfing are popular activities. Even if you’re not sure how, there are plenty of surf schools offering lessons; you’ll be a pro in no time. If you’d rather just bask in the cool water, there are plenty of lagoons and rock pools in the area too. You’re sure to get hungry after a big workout at the beach, so tuck into a delicious meal or coffee at one of the eateries overlooking the sea.

If you want a great family day out without getting wet and sandy, there’s no going past the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you can see kangaroos, snakes and koalas in their natural habitats and even feed the colourful Rainbow Lorikeets when they come out to greet the visitors twice daily. There are also plenty of photo opps with possums, eagles and even crocodiles! But that’s not all you can do at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary; hire a Segway and glide through the Sanctuary’s winding Forest Walk, or test your skills at the Adventure Parc obstacle course.

Now that you’ve seen the animals at the zoo, why not see them in the wild? Take a drive to Currumbin Valley, a lush, green rainforest that forms part of Australia’s Green Cauldron. Here you can visit Springbrook National Park, which has dense forests, creeks and rock pools. Take your walking shoes and take a stroll along the tracks, or make use of the picnic and barbecues available throughout the park. Listen for the calls of brush turkeys and sooty owls, or keep your eyes peeled for the sight of an Eastern water dragon.

Currumbin is also close to other popular areas on the Gold Coast such as Tweed Heads, Mermaid Beach and Coolangatta, making it an ideal place to hang your hat while exploring the Coast. So wot are you waiting for? Book a flight to the Gold Coast and from our range of Currumbin hotels for the perfect Queensland holiday!
