At the end of High Street you will find our beautiful City Park, with its lovely old trees and Conservatory, Albert Hall, the Design Centre, Radio Museum and the resident Japanese snow monkeys who are always loads of fun. Boags Brewery is nearby and tours are conducted several times a day. The National Automobile Museum is opposite the park.
It is short walk to the Seaport area, Tamar River cruises, Cataract Gorge recreational area, Penny Royal World, the Museum and Planetarium and the Inveresk Arts Centre.
Launceston has a vibrant retail sector interspersed with lots of coffee and gift shops and galleries. Princes Square in Elizabeth Street is a peaceful spot with stately old oak trees, a beautiful fountain and surrounded on all sides by lovely old churches and buildings.
Launceston is also a good base from which to travel the Wine Route, visit the Lavender Farm, and explore the many small character villages and historic homes to the south of the city.
