| People say that Roman Consul Cicerone build his mansion exactly here, where there is now the villa that was constructed around 1700. Marco Mario, a roman friend of his that lived in Pompeii, described how beautiful and magnificent it was. Without doubt the position was and is superb!
On the ruins of this Roman mansion, at the end of the 17th century a noble family of Vico, named “de le Castelle” built their villa as it is known to us today. At the end of the 19th century it was bought by the Cosenza family and transformed in the Hotel Seiano.
