Nestled amongst 15 acres of rural countryside, the Briars Lodge has the perfect relaxed atmosphere for a romantic weekend away or a family getaway. The Lodge contains 30 well appointed rooms & 1 roomy suite, a comfortable guest lounge with open fireplace. Lake side conservatory for those special occassions, all with views of our ground with lake and Gazebo. Our fully appointed rooms can either be king or twin, all with an additional double sofa bed for larger families. Interconnecting rooms are available on request. Each room offers a seperate dressing area ensuite with bath. All rooms have a split level sitting room which leads to the outside terrace through beautiful french doors opening onto the spectacular gardens and lake. Our handicap room comes with lounge area on the same level and walk in shower. Guests are also welcome to dine in the historic Georgian (c.1845) Briars Inn Bar & Bistro where they will enjoy the true country atmosphere with its intimate bars and contemporary food. Two private dining rooms are also available. The seasonal menu has something for everyone from light meals to the famous Briars Steak all accompanied by an array of fresh local produce. After dinner, relax in the bar area with its open fireplaces. Other ways to enjoy the country air are to make use of one of the two tennis courts, beach volleyball court, putt putt golf or have a swim in the pool or you could watch the kids play on the playground while you enjoy a relaxing glass of wine. For those guests that are looking for a new challenge Briars also offers Fly Fishing lessons on its expansive lake. So come to the Briars and enjoy a bit of country living only 90 minutes from Sydney. |

Bedding Configiration is a King Bed with a Double Sofa available by request. Children under 5 stay free Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $45.00. Extra children $35.00. | Getting There |
From Sydney: Only a 90 minute drive from Sydney straight along the M5 (on the road to Canberra). Take the Mittagong/Bowral exit and continue through Mittagong and Bowral and take the roundabout exit to Moss Vale at the end of the Bowral township. Continue for 7km and Briars is located on the right hand side. From Sydney Airport: Take the Princes Hwy to the M5 entrance then follow the signs to Canberra. Take the Mittagong/Bowral exit and continue through Mittagong and Bowral and take the roundabout exit onto Moss Vale road at the end of the Bowral township. Continue for 7km and Briars is located on the right hand side. From Canberra: Drive along the Federal Highway and M5 and take the Sutton Forrest exit. Travel through Moss Vale and you will see Briars on the left hand side of Moss Vale Rd 5km out of town. There are also coaches avaialble through Berrima Coaches. |

Located just five minutes from the townships of Bowral & Moss Vale and a short drive to the historic village of Berrima, Briars is the perfect base to explore the picturesque Southern Highlands. Within the local area guests can enjoy bushwalking, bird watching, garden tours and fantastic tours of the local historic homes. Or if you are feeling more active there are 6 golf courses with in a ten minute drive or numerous wineries to visit and sample. If you are looking for something more relaxing take a Briars picnic with you and visit the large number of antique stores, historic villages and scenic drives around the area. |
