3 1/2Star self rating. The house has old style charm but with modern amenities and very comfortable.Roomy.The Beautiful Romantic Escape room has its own 2 person Luxury Corner Spa in the ensuite.It is located down one end of the house but we give couples exclusive use of the house .THUS NO SHARING!!!. Also available is another Queen "Treetops Room" with a queen bed and large newly renovated bathroom adjacent. Lovely views from all the windows on to the large trees at the rear of the property. There are 2 smaller bedrooms downstairs with a third bathroom- suitable for older children. The location is excellent,half way between Olinda & Sassafras so you can walk to the restaurants and shops. "Miss Marples" tea rooms are only 2 minutes by car or 0.5km walk away.The exotic garden setting on 3/4 acre makes a short or long stay a memorable experience.Peaceful and green.The kookaburras feed on the balcony only feet away from the breakfast table. There is central heating throughout with the beautfiul open stone fire place in the lounge room to relax by.Note cool in summer up in the Dandenongs Also included with the beautiful homestead is a continental, self prepare breakfast which consists of cereal, bread, milk,tea/coffee,eggs and some extras in the pantry like a pancake mix and baked beans .Also food for the parrots and Kookaburra's!!You have a well equipped country kitchen with stove, microwave, 2fridges and DW and the rear elevated (private) deck has a table setting for 6 with a gas BBQ available If you prefer not to dine out there are several takeaway choices eg Indian, Italian or Chinese in nearby Olinda and Mt Dandenong.The Mt Dandenong Hotel has lovely meals and reasonable prices too.Note we will have at IGA opening in June 2009 situated opposite the hotel (which is also near the takeaway outlets) Drive 10 minutes to Belgrave with Puffing Billy steam train or visit one of the great gardens like Alfred Nicolas, National Rhododendron gardens, The Tulip farm or William Ricketts Sanctuary-It is up to You!!!! |

| Getting There |
45-50 minutes from Melbourne by car. Can choose to travel via M1. Get off M1 at Ferntree Gully Road turnoff. Travel along this until you reach Burwood Highway-Turn Right. Follow along through Ferntree Gully then Upper Ferntree Gully. Once you drive under overhead railway line turn left up Mt Dandenong Tourist Road- you are now 10 minutes away approx. Travel the windy ascent with care!! Once through the small village of SASSAFRAS continue on towards Olinda (Windy road). On the right hand side is house no.426 which is 10 feet (3 metres) before Colehurst Crescent. TURN RIGHT INTO COLEHURST CRESCENT and no 2A entrance is down 50 metres on the right (IT is the first driveway) If coming from Olinda travel towards Sassafras, go past Colehurst Crescent and house No 426 . At a safe place in Sassafras or before do a U-Turn then follow the instructions above. Melway 66 G10 - DO NOT GO DOWN Lennox Grove as it does not link up !!! The house is green timber with an iron roof.Sloping driveway-Take care - May choose to back down the entrance depending on the time of day/type of car etc I Repeat DO NOT GO DOWN LENNOX GROVE!!!! |

Walk down to Miss Marples Tea Rooms in Sassafras or a 5 minute drive to Olinda with many restaurants,passing The famous Cuckoo Restaurant.We are near many antique and tourist shops including Olinda Sweets. Try Flippin Pancakes restaurantin Sassafras or Woods in Sherbrooke .Visit Silvan Dam and Kalorama.Pick blueberries in season! Puffin Billy in Belgrave is only 10 minutes by car-Also there is Cameo Outdoor picture theatre.National Rhododendron Gardens is worth a visit and a walk through Sherbrooke forest a must - you may spot a lyrebird here!! See the breathtaking view of Melbourne and the bay from the newly reopened Skyhigh restaurant or take a drive to Yarra valley region with the lovely wines , cheeses and Tulip farm. It is all here for you!And MORE Note* The Skyhigh have a free stretch limo pickup /return service available but not on Saturday nights |
