Marineland Motel has recently received a serious internal upgrade to most rooms resulting in some of the latest appointments, fittings, furnishings and plumbing available being used. Some units now have Air-conditioning The Motel is situated across the road from the only safe swimming ocean beach at Napier and the swimmable tidal salt water Estuary on the West shore. It is in the "heart" of any marine activity desired and provides back door access to some of the most wonderful scenic walks to be had in the Bay. Marineland Motel consists of 23 ground floor units and one 3 bedroom luxurious Apartment that sleeps 7. The Motel consist of a variety of accommodation combinations. Executive Studios for 1 to 4 people, 1 bedroom units that will sleep up to 6 people. A selection of 2 bedroom family units for 4 to 6 people and of course those 2 bedroom units that look out over the ocean. All Standard Studio units have near new TV's and sleep 2. Executive Stusio units (with Spa in the en-suite have queen bed plus single bed and some have a pull-out couch. The 1 bedroom units have a king bed plus a single and a pull-out couch, the 1 bdrm units with Conservatory have a King bed and 3 singles. The 2 bedroom family suites have a queen bed in 1 bdrm and 2 or singles in the other bdrm. The Premier Executive suites (new Dec 2008) have been professionally remodelled with the latest of appointments and furnitions and provide the most wonderful views of the Estuary and Marina from their private elvated and glass fenced deck new LCD TV's with DVD players have been fitted to most units and all TV's have 6 Sky channels connected. All units except the Studios have an extra TV in the master bedroom The 2 storey unit Apartment is a very sumptuously appointed, having a full kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom is equipped with the latest European designed twin bowl glass vanity plus 2 person "multi" jet Spa with the latest Sati Jet shower over the top. The lounge is provisioned with a "Kent" log burner to add to the home away from home atmosphere during those colder winter nights. It is very private and quiet and simply affordable luxury Marineland Motel is presented as a quiet, very comfortable facility suitable for both families and the corporate traveller. It is the only Motel in Napier that provides for its guests with a large, heated and enclosed salt water swimming pool on site. The "award winning" a la carte licenced restaurant "Estuary's" on site is staffed by internationally qualified chefs which have developed a reputation of one of the "preferred places" to dine at in the "Hawkes Bay". | Getting There |
We can provide complimentary transport to/from all major public transport facilities in Napier. However, if arriving by car; From Taupo or Gisborne, once you see Napier Airport on your right, continue passed the airport entrance and Meeanee Quay is the next side road on your left (about 800m passed airport entrance. Turn onto Meeanee Quay and continue on that St. for about 1km and just before you cross the Estuary we are immediately on your left From the South; follow the signs to "Airport". As you reach the outskirts of Napier via the Napier/Hastings Expressway (SH50) be carefull NOT to turn onto Meeanee Rd, continue north through 3 round-abouts. Ignore the following turn-offs, Kennedy Rd, Taradale Rd, Prebenson Drive. Continue North for a further 1 and a bit kms till you reach the next side road on your right, this will be your road Meeanee Quay. Turn right and continue down this road for 1.2kms and just before crossing the Estuary the Motel will be on your left Or we are happy to hire you a "Navman" navigation facility ($5/day) that you can use from any point in NZ to get to any point in NZ. |

| Things To Do |
Relax and enjoy the comfort and hospitality, observe or photgraph some of the preserved/rebuilt architecturally designed buildings of the late 1800s that the 1931 earthquake did not destroy (Napier is known as the "Art Deco" city of the world). Take a walk through the Napier Museum and see the photographs of the destruction caused by the great quake, the machinery and equipment used by the early settlers in the province to etch out a living. Take a guided Art Deco tour. Visit Marineland Marine Wildlife Centre to see a wide variety of marine animals being cared for. Unfortunately the bottle nosed Dolphins that used to perform there are no longer alive but the marine staff are keen during animal feeding times to allow members of the public feed the animals an talk generally about them There are opportunities to feed the Blue Penguins and the Sea Lions and even "swim" with the Sea Lyons Bring your own or hire golf clubs and play a round or 2 of golf on the internationally ranked "Black Rock" golf course at Cape Kidnappers or just settle for a round or 2 on the challenging courses close (10 mins) to the motel. Take a day fishing/diving charter into Hawke Bay for some Snapper, Terikihi, Kingfish or go for the big yellow/blue fin tuna (to mention just a few of the many species of fish available). Dive or place Pots on Pania Reef for a Crayfish or 2, or if you are into the "Big game" species, head off shore for a day or two for marlyn, gropper or shark. We can even put you in touch with some of the most experienced fresh water and general game hunters in the Bay if you wish to further your "great outdoor" pursuits If it is white water rafting or just a little canoeing that is desired, singles/doubles or triples are available within easy walking distance of the Motel. For the serious outdoor hunter seeking pig, deer or goat, we can put you in touch with some of the most experienced hunters in the Hawkes Bay. For serious fresh water angler we can guide you to some the most productive fresh water trout rivers/lakes in the North Island and accessible within half an hours drive of the Motel. For the wine & food connoisseurs, we can point you to the finest restaurants/wineries in the Bay where you will be guaranteed an experience to remember. And don't forget the "night life", we are within easy walking distance of some of the nicest bars, cafe's and restaurants Napier has to offer. |
