| Getting There |
Ayr Travellers Motel is located directly off the Bruce Highway on the main street of Ayr, 1 hour and 15 minutes south of Townsville. If travelling from Townsville Airport, leave Townsville for Ayr as follows: turn right onto Stinson Avenue, turn right onto Meenan Street, take the second exit at the roundabout onto Ingham Road, turn left onto Langton Street, turn right onto Woolcock Street, take the first exit at the roundabout onto Bruce Hwy, continue along Bruce Highway. When you reach Ayr, follow Bruce Highway past Coles Supermarket to Queen Street, turn right and continue past McDonalds (on your left). Ayr Travellers Motel is situated just past the roundabout on the right hand side of the road. |

While staying at Ayr Travellers Motel, there are many interesting local places of interest to explore and activities to take part in; including Sugar Mill Tours, guided tours of a working sugar mill during the June to November crushing season; Ayr Nature Display, which displays more than 60 000 different species of flora and fauna; Silverlink Interpretive Centre, a permanent photographic display telling the story of the conception, planning, construction and opening of the Burdekin River Bridge and the Stardust Drive-In Cineplex which airs recent release movies most Friday and Saturday nights. |
