The Comfort Inn Federation is 3.5 stars AAA rated and boasts the largest rooms in Corowa. It has 22 rooms (all ground floor) and is handily situated on the main road to Albury, only 1.5 km from the PO, and less than 1 km from the new Federation Bridge across the Murray River. Built in the 1980's, the verandahs at the front door of each look out to lovely garden areas, with more than ample parking spaces provided. The salt water pool is open for all visitors to use, and is located in the gardens next to the free barbecue. We have on-site a licensed restaurant (Tokay's) Corowa is called "The Birthplace of Federation" with good reason, as it was here that the first discussions of joining all the States of Australia into a Commonwealth took place. It is also only 10 minutes from the centre of Rutherglen, home to 22 world-renowned wineries, and 45 minutes from Albury-Wodonga or Wangaratta. The snowfields are a 90 minutes drive away, passing through such delightful townships as Milawa, Yackandandah, Beechworth and Bright. Visitors can taste wines, olives, mustards, cheeses and chocolates all in the same day! And if culinary delights are not your thing, the Corowa Golf Club has 27 holes for you to play around on, and it isn't far to the Howlong, Yarrawonga-Mulwala or Cobram-Barooga golf courses. Plus, of course, Corowa has a wonderful lawn bowling culture - this is where the film "Crackerjack" was made after all. |

| Getting There |
Driving from Melbourne, heading north towards Albury, turn left from the Hume Highway at the "Corowa / Wahgunyah" sign just past Wangaratta. Follow the next Corowa signs, turning right across the railway line and drive 37 km until crossing the Murray River at the Federation Bridge. Turn left onto Honour Avenue (immediately over the bridge) and we are on your left hand side approximately 500m from the roundabout. Driving from Albury / Canberra / Sydney, or any other point north, the main road from Albury becomes Honour Avenue once it reaches Corowa, and this is the road we are situated on. It is approximately 500m on the left after the roundabout which leads to the Federation Bridge crossing the Murray River. |
