Ambleside on the Lake offers luxury Edwardian, old worlde style accommodation. We are located on the quiet side of Lake Daylesford.

A continental breakfast is included daily, with a cooked breakfast totally optional (prices apply and payable directly at the B&B). Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the lake and for those wishing to partake in the cooked breakfast, there is an extensive a-la-carte menu to choose from. Special diets can be catered for if we are given sufficient notice.

This stylish B&B offers panoramic views, along with the serenity that goes with a lakeside location.

Ambleside B&B is ideally situated and is walking distance to restaurants, galleries & tourist attractions. You can simply park the car and leave it for the duration of your stay.

Built in 1912, Ambleside retains old-world charm, yet features modern day comforts like ensuites and air conditioning. Featuring spacious guestrooms and exclusive guest lounge areas, guests are afforded the privacy they deserve.

Each guestroom features queen beds, private en suites, fridges, irons, hairdryers, toiletries incl. hand-made soap, tea/coffee making facilities and all rooms are fully air conditioned for year round comfort.

Our two deluxe rooms (Lakeview and Grasmere Rooms both feature TV/DVD players and sofas for lounging.

For those seeking a private, modern, self-contained property, we can now offer you "VUE".

Vue is located right next door and offers the same - if not better - views as ourselves!

Vue is totally private accommodation for 2 people only and features 1 bedroom with KB, private ensuite with freestanding bath, a lounge with gas-log fireplace and soaring cathedral windows with stunning lake views. You won't get better views in Daylesford!

Breakast is not provided in this accommodation, but you are welcome to utilise the full kitchen facilities for a cook-your-own, or wander up to one of the many cafes that are close by.

Check In Instructions Check-in is avail after 2pm. It is imperative guests contact us 24hrs prior to check-in to confirm their arrival time. If you cannot advise an arrival time, we will make arrangements for a key to be left out for you.
Check Out 1100hrs
Getting There You can travel to Daylesford via the Western Highway or the Calder.

If you take the Western turn off at Ballan and follow the Daylesford Sign.

If you take the Calder, *turn off at Woodend and take the Daylesford turnoff at the end of town.

If you are coming from the Airport, head for Sunbury when exiting the airport, then head for Woodend. This is the easiest route from the Airport and means you avoid the Western Ring Road. (Follow instructions from * above).

Daylesford is approximately 30-35km from either Highway. Come into Daylesford, find the BP Petrol Station and head over the lake. We are located on the 'quiet' side of Lake Daylesford and look back directly to LakeHouse. The Visitor Information Centre will always be able to direct you if you can't find your way.

If you are coming via public transport, please contact us with travel details and we will organise to pick you up from the local Bus stop.

Ambleside is approx. 800m from the Post Office.
Parking Off-street car parking available on the carport beside the house.
Things To Do Daylesford has a wonderful array of attractions to keep you busy during your visit. Alternatively, its a great place just to sit around and not do anything! Some local activities to entice you outdoors include:
-Walking tracks, mineral springs, bushwalking, picnic areas
-Boating on Lake Daylesford
-Hotels, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, organic produce suppliers
-Local tourist attractions, historic train rides on weekends, museum
