Dugong Beach Resort offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, set in a lush tropical landscape with restaurant, bar, fully-equipped functions and conference facilities, gymnasium, pools and spa, all inter-connected by boardwalks to preserve the natural surroundings. The property comprises 60 waterfront rooms, bungalows and suites, set on 25 hectares of coastline with breathtaking ocean views from almost every part of the resort. The low-impact eco resort is owned by the Aboriginal people of Groote Eylandt, some of whom are employed at the resort. The resort also operates a cultural centre displaying local arts and providing a venue for cultural performances, enhancing your unique indigenous experience. Reception with concierge is available from early morning to late evening with an electric baggage buggy to transfer luggage to and from the rooms. |

Dugong Beach Resort is located approximately 20km from Groote Eylandt airport. Transfers can be arranged directly with the resort prior to arrival. Limited hire cars also available from the airport. |

Groote Eylandt is a fantastic spot for fishing. The adjacent Escape Sport Fishing & Wilderness Lodge offers anglers the opportunity to experience the thrill of catching many different fish species, such as barramundi, black marlin, tuna and many more. For a unique indigenous experience, tours include Historical Art Site Tour, Shallow Water Hunting Tour, Bush Tucker Discovery Tour and Emerald River Tour. Groote Eylandt Golf Club and various other sporting clubs are located a short distance from the resort. |
