Chinchilla Motel is friendly and affordable. It is ideally located on the Warrego Highway on the Miles side of Chinchilla and set in an acre and half of lawns. The ten (10) modern rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. All are ground floor and have undercover ‘at your door’ parking with ample additional on site parking for boats, trailers and trucks. Chinchilla Motel home comforts include hearty meals available in our ‘Outdoor Room’ or to your suite . Breakfasts served from 5.15am. Self contained rooms available. Provided are reverse cycle air-conditioning, electric blankets, hairdryer, fridge, tea & coffee making facilities, toaster, clock radio, iron, free to air TV, 27 channel Austar, wireless Internet access and free guests laundry. All rooms are non-smoking. |

Rates are for 2 people. Extra adults $10.00. Extra children $10.00. The room caters for a maximum of 3 adults, and a maximum of 1 child but cannot exceed 3 guests in total. Travelling on the Warrego Highway, Motel is located 219 Klm west of Brisbane, or 43 klm east of Miles. Just 800 metres from Town and nearest Motel to Chinchilla Golf Course. Last Motel on Warrego Highway heading west from Dalby through Chinchilla. |

Barakula State Forest Drive See the first oil bore in Australia, the dingo barrier fence with its sonic deterrent and pass other historic landmarks as you drive through this carefully managed State Forest. Chinchilla Melon festival The Internationally acclaimed Melon Festival kicked off in 1994 and now held every 2 years (next in 2011) was originally designed to bolster the spirits of a drought stricken community (25% of Australia’s melon crop is grown in Chinchilla). Chinchilla Historical Museum Provides an ‘old time’ experience for the whole family from impressive slab cottage, the old jail and dance hall to the 1900 steam sawmill and impressive display of vintage machinery, much of it still working. Chinchilla Petrified Wood Regarded as one of the largest collection of its kind to be found anywhere.
