Westhaven Motel is located in the heart of Mount Maunganui on the harbourside waterfront in Pilot Bay. The only original old fashioned motel left in Mount Maunganui with 9 spacious units still kept in the same style as it was in 1969 when it was built. The Motel is extremely well maintained to preserve it's old fashioned styling which has become it's main attraction especially for families with young children who want to re-live the family holidays of their childhood and the older generation wanting a slice of life as it used to be all those years ago. Literally within minutes walking distance to all the modern shops, cafes, restaurants, the Salt Water Hot Pools and "Mauao" (The Mount). The main surf beach is only a 5 minute walk across town for those seeking the thrill of the waves and the glamour of the beach life where surf Lifesaving events, beach volleyball and numerous other beach activities can be enjoyed. The calm waters and white sand beach of Pilot Bay offer visitors safe swimming, boating and all manner of water sports including Triathlons! Westhaven Motel affords magnificent views across the Tauranga Harbour to the west towards the majestic Kaimai Ranges where glorious sunsets form the backdrop to a wonderful relaxing holiday. Westhaven Motel is proud to remain one of life's little treasures preserving an air of the old days while catering to the needs of modern accommodation. There are 7 one bedroom units which can sleep between 2 and 6 guests comfortably, and 2 two bedroom units that can easily accommodate 7 guests. |

| Getting There |
Mount Maunganui is situated on a very small narrow peninsula, and Westhaven Motel is located on the Harbour side. Drive to downtown Mount Maunganui then find your way to the western (harbour) side of the peninsula where you will find the Motel at 27a The Mall, which is the waterfront street that follows the beach from the wharf to the Mountain. From the Tauranga Airport take a taxi for approximately $10. By bus, the local bus terminal is at the end of the street (The Mall), and the Tauranga city terminal is in Tauranga only 6 kms away. Advise your arrival time and a courtesy car will be sent to collect you from the bus terminal. |
