The Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen is located adjacent to the Lo Wu border crossing into Hong Kong. The hotel is also convenient to Shenzhen’s many attractions, including theme parks and shopping.Shenzhen is known for its excellent shopping. Be sure to visit Luohu Commercial City with it s corridors of stalls selling virtually anything and everything. For tailored suits and electronic goods, head to Dongmen Market. In Lychee Park, the Shenzhen Museum contains some 20,000 jade, porcelain and bronze artifacts. The museum also has halls deovoted to ancient Shenzhen and its local zoology and underwater life. About 15 km to the west of Shenzhen are several unique theme parks. China Folk Culture Villages recreates two dozen ethnic minority villages and a number of dwellings; Splendid China puts all of China’s icons and attractions on display in miniature form; Windows of the World recreates many of the world’s most famous structures, including the Eiffel Tower and a miniature Great Wall; and Happy Valley, which offers adrenaline-inducing roller coasters and rides. |
