Glengarry offers travellers a choice of accommodation types to suit your needs and budget – ranging from two bedroom villas to shaded, large camp sites. Our cabins and villas range from a rating of 3 to 4 star with AAA. We are the only caravan park in the Port Douglas/Daintree region to offer ensuite sites – a site with your own shower/toilet. Enjoy the perfect weather of the tropics, from the gorgeous sunshine to cooling tropical rains. Glengarry is the perfect place from which to join one of the many local tours available - to Daintree National Park, Cape Tribulation, Cooktown or perhaps simply take some time out by the landscaped pool. For the more adventurous, while holidaying at Glengarry, why not challenge yourself with the nearby bushwalking trail of the historic "Bump Track" or climb up to Spring Creek Falls or pushbike to the "local" (seasonal) swimming hole. Observe the abundant birdlife or try your luck fishing in the Mowbray River, only 400 metres away either from the bank or launch your own tinnie. From business suit to barefoot, from frantic to free, refresh, restore and revitalise in the aquamarine reef waters of the Coral Sea, the crystal creeks of Mossman Gorge or on the palm fringed golden sands of Four Mile Beach. | Getting There |
To Reach Glengarry Holiday Park by vehicle: Travelling North from (Townsville, Mission Beach, Cairns etc), after driving up the magnificent Captain Cook Highway with ocean views at each corner, travelling through sugar cane fields, turn left off the Captain Cook Highway 1km north of the Mowbray River bridge into Mowbray River Road. Travelling South from (Cooktown, Atherton Tablelands, Daintree etc), travel 2.4 kms past the Port Douglas turn off. Turn right into Mowbray River Road. We are 600m further along with no train lines, highway noise - just a chorus of birdcalls to awaken to. Our closest airport is Cairns. This also applies if arriving in Cairns by train. The closest railway station is Cairns, with bus services available. Bus services are available from the airport. Please telephone staff for information regarding the bus companies, prices etc. |

Known as a glamorous hotspot for the famous, Port Douglas still manages to retain an unpretentious and relaxed ambiance: you’ll only find buildings up to three stories high, not much taller than the nearby palm trees, boutique clothing shops and exquisite alfresco dining restaurants. Let us help you enjoy our area ! Great Barrier Reef: Port Douglas is the closest mainland town to the Great Barrier Reef. Glengarry's Tour Desk can advise and book all reef tours with a collection service available. Port Douglas Markets: Open every Sunday between 8am and 1.30pm, the markets offer a huge range of local arts and crafts Flagstaff Hill Lookout: From this vantage point you can get the best views of Port Douglas and the striking Four Mile Beach Golf Courses: There are several world class golf courses at Port Douglas. The Mirage Country Club at the Sheraton Mirage Resort, the Sea Temple Golf & Country Club and The Links Golf Course at Mantra Links Resort Port Douglas are all beautifully designed and maintained. Rainforest Habitat: Visitors to this Port Douglas environmental wildlife park are given the opportunity to experience 4 different environments - rainforest, woodlands, grasslands and wetlands areas – only 2.4km away. Mossman Gorge: Mossman Gorge is an attractive area for a walk and five kilometres from Mossman. Mossman is about 25km from Port Douglas. Four Mile Beach: A long sandy beach stretching from Island Point in one long arc. Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation: The Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation is to the north of Port Douglas The 'Bump Track': The Bump Track is an aptly named trail used by pioneers in the 1800's to travel from the coast near Port Douglas up to gold and tin fields on the Tablelands. This walking trail is a short 2kms away. Mowbray River: Try your luck fishing in the Mowbray River, only 400 metres away either from the bank or launch your own tinnie. Skyrail and Kuranda Train: we can organise a tour company to pick you up and look after you for the day or alternatively we can book you with a “self drive” itinerary. |
