The Bussaco Palace Hotel is a historic castle hotel in the Serra do Bussaco National Park, about 20 km outside of Coimbra. Built by the Portuguese kings during the end of the 19th century, this breathtaking hunting palace is considered one of the finest examples of gothic architecture in Portugal and Europe. Even one night at the 5 star Bussaco Palace Hotel will prove to be an unforgettable experience. The 5 star luxury hotel is located right in the middle of the Bussaco National Park. Inside and outside, the palace hotel is a perfect example of gothic architecture: pointed towers, several ornamentations, pointed arches and columns create a real fairy tale setting. The main tower of the 5 star hotel in particular shoots up and offers you fantastic views of the incredible nature of the area around Coimbra. The gothic architecture of the palace hotel in Portugal is accompanied by authentic historic furnishings such as antique canopy beds, heavy drapes of expensive fabrics, period furniture and paintings depicting scenes from the history of Portugal, giving the Bussaco Palace Hotel an enchanting interior. João Vaz is the name of the restaurant at the 5 star hotel Bussaco Palace, named after the famous Portuguese artist who decorated the walls with scenes from the epic poem “The Lusiads”. Classic French cuisine and traditional Portuguese dishes are served, accompanied by a choice selection of wine from the long wine list, which of course also includes the local Bussaco wine |
