Character Boutique Hotel,over looking Picton Marina. Only metres from the town centre. Originally built in the early 1900's as the 5th Bank of New Zealand. The building now provides luxury Accommodation, Restaurant and Bar. Escape to Picton offers three luxury accommodation suites, each room has its own unique individual character. All rooms are ensuite with either King or Queen beds, showers & baths, modern facilities such as Plasma screens, iPod docks and players, Broadband. The decor and facilities are second to none. The Bar / Restaurant is very contemporary, clean lines and the decor is sure to impress. There is also an outside courtyard area with lounging furniture and dining. Serving a wide selection of local Marlborough Wines and the cuisine ranges from Brunch /Lunch and Platters to fine dining in the evening. Picton is the ideal location to base yourself to experience what the Marlborough area has to offer. It's the gateway to the South Island where the Inter Islander ferry traverses the Cook Straits between Picton & Wellington. Located in the North East of the South Island "Water Wine & Wilderness" best describes the area and what it has to offer. 100 meters from Escape to Picton Water taxis leave regularly from the foreshore for the sounds. Wine Tours also leave Picton regularly to transport people around the local Marlborough Vineyards. There are lots of adventure activities and Eco tourism is very popular, with lots of walks like the Queen Charlotte Track on your door step. Transportation in and out of the area is well serviced. Inter Islander Ferry, Trains, Busses all depart from Picton and there are two local airports where you can fly from for domestic and to connect to international flights. |
