When staying at the Bamboo Cottage, it only takes moments to appreciate how beautifully positioned you are....quietly down the end of a 'no through road, so close to the buzz of Byron with its cafes, restaurants, bars, boutiques, movies, markets the information centre etc., and within a short stroll of Byron's stunning beaches. You can hear both the surf and birds from the deck and the feeling is that you are hidden in a secluded tropical Balinese garden. Built in the 1930’s, this popular 3½ star whaler’s cottage has a sense of the past and present. Tastefully renovated and environmentally friendly, a lot of thought has gone into the décor, nothing too modern but instead a comfortable touch of Australian and Pacific Island to give a sense of happiness and casual comfort. Guests also feel the intended relaxed ease in the tropical gardens with a lazy hammock, garden seats, decks, walkways, Balinese statues and gentle fountains. The guests 'open-plan' living-room has TV, DVD, music and a library and there are spots to eat either inside or outside on the decks. Help yourself to coffee, tea or filtered water or whip up breakfast, lunch or a BBQ if you prefer. Breakfast is an optional extra as, over the years, guests have appreciated being able to choose at the last minute from eating out, either at Byron’s great cafes or restaurants, or going to a great cafe overlooking the beach...all of which are so close. Or, if they choose, guests can relax at the cottage, helping themselves to a light breakfast of coffee, tea, a choice of cereals, toasts and their compliments. The honesty system requires just $5 per person to be popped into the cow!! The laundry, parking and free WI-FI complete the list of things we think you will need for a laid-back holiday in beautiful Byron. Your own personal bedrooms are bright, happy and comfortable with a choice of private bathroom or share bathroom. There are TV’s, warm wooden floors, crisp linen and towels, heating and electric blankets in winter, high ceilings with fans for summer and garden outlooks. The water is solar heated and all facilities encourage environmental thinking. Rooms are not serviced daily. Smoking is outside only. |
